  INTRODUCTION  Full formof FIFA is Fédération Internationale de Football Association.  The championship has been awarded every four years  There are held within the six FIFA continental zones (Africa, Asia, North and Central America and Caribbean, South America, Oceania, and Europe)  The qualification process can start almost three years before the final tournament and last over a two-year period  The final tournament has been used since 1998 & features 32 national teams competing over the course of a month in the host nation(s). There are two stages: the group stage followed by the knockout stage

  GOLDEN GLOVE AWARD The Golden Glove Award is awarded to the best goalkeeper of the tournament  The award was introduced with the name Lev Yashin Award in 1994  1ST Golden Glove winner was Michel Georges Jean Ghislain Preud'homme (Belgium)  In 2018 FIFA World Cup Thibaut Nicolas Marc Courtois (Belgium) won this award.

  GOLDEN BOOT AWARD The Golden Boot or Golden Shoe Award goes to the top goal scorer of the FIFA World Cup  The first time this award was given in 1982  1ST Golden Boot winner was Paolo Rossi (Italy). He scored 6 Goals in this tournament.  In 2018 FIFA World Cup Harry Kane (England) won this award.  Besides Golden Boot Silver and Bronze Boots are awarded to the 2nd and 3rd top goal scorer player.

  GOLDEN BALL AWARD The 'Golden Ball Award' is presented to the outstanding player at each FIFA World Cup finals.  Silver Ball and Bronze Ball awards given to the 2nd and 3rd most outstanding players in the tournament respectively  1st Golden Ball winner was José Nasazzi Yarza(Uruguay)  Barcelona is the only club whose players have won the Golden Ball a record 3 times (Johan Cruyff in 1974, Romário in 1994, Lionel Messi in 2014).
