early nineteenth century. The US tourism
industry being the largest in the world has
employed over million taking care of over
1.19 billion trips. The motive of The
United States is to make the world aware
about the locations of the home of various
cultures, The United States.

Travel and tourism is a booming
industry in the United States. Domestic
and international travellers contributed
nearly 1.1 trillion U.S. dollars to the
country’s gross domestic product in
2018 alone. GDP is not the only aspect
of the economy that the travel and
tourism industry contributes to, it also
provides a source of employment for
U.S. residents, directly contributing to
approximately 5.29 million jobs in 2017
for over 11.9 billion trips in united
states.

10. OTHER ARRANGEMENTS BY
THE UNITED STATES
The citizens of various countries can travel to the united states
under certain conditions like citizens must not have had a criminal
conviction or ineligibility, violated U.S. immigration laws in the
past and must be in possession of valid.
Eg;
Bahamas: Bahamian citizens do not require a visa to enter the
United States if they apply for entry at one of the Preclearance
Facilities located in Nassau or Freeport International Airports.
Bahamian citizens must not have had a criminal conviction or
ineligibility, violated U.S. immigration laws in the past and must be
in possession of valid, unexpired Bahamian passport or a Bahamian
Travel Document indicating that they have Bahamian citizenship.
In addition to a passport, all applicants 14 years of age or older
must present a police certificate issued by the Royal Bahamas
Police Force within the past six months. All Bahamians applying
for admission at a port-of-entry other than the pre-clearance
facilities located in Nassau or Freeport International airports are
required to be in possession of a valid visa to enter the United
States.
11. THE U.S. VISA WAVIER
PROGRAMME
Although the visa policy of the U.S.
also applies to the U.S. territories of
Guam and the Northern Mariana
Islands in general, both territories
have additional visa waiver programs
for certain nationalities. Permits
nationals from 12 countries in Asia,
Europe and Oceania to enter Guam
and the Northern Mariana Islands as
tourists for up to 45 days without the
need of obtaining a U.S. visa or an
ESTA. A parole policy also allows
nationals of China visa-free access to
the Northern Mariana Islands for up to
14 days.

1. Direct spending by resident and international
travellers in the U.S. averaged $3.0 billion a day,
$124.3 million an hour, $2.1 million a minute and
$34,500 a second.

in tax revenue.

expenditures on meetings, events and incentive
programs (ME&I), totalled $327.3 billion in 2018.
• ME&I travel accounted for $135.9 billion of all
business travel spending.
• U.S. residents logged 463.6 million person-trips for
business purposes in 2018,
with 38% for meetings and events.
