This document evaluates Bangladesh's National Tourism Policy of 2010 with a focus on the development of beach and natural tourism. It outlines the policy's goals of establishing tourism as a major economic sector and prioritizing the development of beach tourism. The evaluation analyzes progress made towards developing beaches like Cox's Bazar and Teknaf as tourist destinations through new infrastructure projects. However, it finds that inadequate funding, management issues, and a lack of skilled workers remain barriers. The evaluation concludes that greater private investment and more effective policy implementation could help overcome weaknesses and develop Bangladesh's beach tourism industry.
