This presentation discusses the development of a health literacy checklist for evaluating virtual world exhibits on health and wellness. A team of graduate students and a faculty director created exhibits in Second Life on healthy aging over several years, gathering user feedback. Recognizing the importance of health literacy, the team conducted research to develop a checklist based on health literacy principles. They applied the checklist to evaluate existing exhibits, identifying issues and implementing changes. The process helped students learn how to make health information more accessible and empower consumers, while gaining skills in evidence-based practice, user-centered design, and collaboration.
