The following is a summary of my abilities and represent my top ten skills:
• I possess planning and organizational skills. I have planned, started up, and grown new ventures for
three companies during my career. I am very adaptable and flexible which helps me implement change
within an existing culture. I have a successful track record in creating high technology businesses as an
internal entrepreneur within each company
• I have a strong ability to manage an operating business unit. I have very strong time and information
management skills. I am able to analyze a P&L statement to find areas for operational improvements. I
am proficient at controlling expenditures to within approved budgets while achieving revenue and
profits goals.
• I am able to put together cohesive business plans that include all resources required to execute the plan
and the financial data needed for approval. I have solid planning and organizational skills. I am
excellent in creating realistic budgets and accurate business forecasts.
• I am an excellent communicator. I have a wide range of communication skills. I am as comfortable
talking with CEOs, COOs, and CFOs as I am with the individuals that operate the buildings. I believe
the key to a successful operation is proportional to your ability to communicate effectively.
• I am an excellent public speaker and have taught many technical classes and seminars. I have made
many presentations speaking before large groups of engineers as well as business owners and
operators. I have written several articles for trade magazines serving the Buildings industry. I share
information and ideas with enthusiasm and like to simulate the people that I address.
• I am a very creative person. I am comfortable with technology. I have the vision to see new
applications for existing products and new products as solutions for existing problems. For York
International, I directed the creation and launch of 23 electronic energy control products and developed
a successful company-owned commercial product line.
• I am an expert in team leadership and building team spirit. I am excellent at coaching employees. I
develop rapport easily and I am good at influencing the ideas of others. While at York, I established a
company-wide task team to oversee the integration of HVAC&R products with microprocessor-based
control systems for use by all business units of the company.
• I am excellent in the development of strong client relationships. I possess a strong customer
orientation.
• I possess a strong knowledge of the aftermarket service business. I have a strong focus on the
customer and their on going operational needs.
• I am proficient in dealing with ambiguity and the unknown. I am able to see and seize opportunities. I
am able to balance risk with solid decision making skills to create solutions that produce positive
results for the company, the employee and for the customer.
