The following presentation represents what
I believe to currently be the Top Ten
Internet Uses. The categories rank in no
particular order, as I feel they all serve
           their respective purposes.
Instant Messaging and E-mail have
 enabled users to communicate freely
 without boundaries or time constraints.
Sites such as yahoo.com provide instant
message and email services that allow
people to connect all over the world.
Search engines such as google.com and
     yahoo.com have made research
  capabilities endless. Search engines
 have progressed research, while helping
reduce the time it traditionally takes.
Websites such as facebook.com and
twitter.com are used by people all over
 the world for entertainment purposes.
 There are many different applications
that provide a variety of games to
             entertain users.
Websites such as msnbc.com and
  cnn.com are reputable sources for
providing users with up-to-date news on
 current events. These sources provide
users with insight without having to
     purchase a local newspaper.
Websites such as ohahperd.org are great
for networking with other educators in
our profession. Sites such as this one are
great because tips and strategies van
 be exchanged amongst educators and
         they can be miles away.
Websites such as mapquest.com provide
users with directions to get anywhere
they need to go, from any location.
These sites also provide a variation of
      alternative routes for travelers.
Websites such as troy.blackboard.com
       enable students to engage in
 coursework through distance learning.
This is big because it enables students to
receive an education online, while still
being able to fulfill other employment
           and family obligations.
Online shopping saves consumers the
   “hectic” atmosphere of crowded
  shopping centers. Consumers can
purchase items online, and often times
cheaper than the prices of retail stores.
Polo.com is a very popular website.
Online Banking and Bill Payment provide
users with the opportunity to transfer
 money and handle financial obligations
from the comfort of their own home.
  Chase.com is an excellent example.
The internet is often used for Collegiate
  resources. Websites such as fafsa.gov
   and studentloans.gov provide users
access to resources that can help
   continue their education. Insight on
  grants, financial aid, and scholarships
        are very common topics.
