Profession
I am an entrepreneur that networks and manages business, people and projects. I have has focused
on different aspects of real estate development including permitting, acquisition, finance, design,
construction, administration and management. My projects have included from 70 unit high-rise
permitting, change of use and waterfront development, live/work, high-end single family homes.
I have listed my attributes below to illustrate the varied areas of expertise that I have acquired and
employed in my tenure as a real estate developer. I believe these attributes are necessary and
valuable assets for any aspect of business and project fulfillment, as well as the foundation for most
entrepreneurial positions.
History
My career started as a teenager in architectural design and construction management and
continued in New York City as a real estate attorney. After several years of learning the real estate
business from the negotiation, transaction and legal perspective, I had shifted back to my childhood
penchant for real estate development.
Upon settling in the San Francisco Bay Area two decades ago, I founded TJ Enterprises, which built
speculative high-end single-family custom homes. TJ Enterprises then diversified and expanded to
Live/Work, moderate sized multi-family developments specifically designed for the versatile lifestyles of
people who wish to work and reside – or live and work – in their habitat, often a community
atmosphere.
Each project I have developed has been approached with a focus of creativity, individuality and high
standards of quality. TJ Enterprises has kept its focus on community-inspired projects with multi-family
housing, taking residential and live/work concepts to an entire new level of community oriented living
through design, while continuing the high-end, single family custom homes that established my
reputation. I have been honored and featured in three magazines illustrating my commitment to top
quality design, construction and customer satisfaction.
My beliefs and focus naturally led me to Green Building efficiency and design innovations
incorporating new technology along with quality design improvements consistent with evolving urban
renewal and environmental principles. As awareness of the necessity of developing ‘green’ and as the
development of ‘green’ design and products has grown, my interest in green development has grown
as well. My projects have educated me in the different aspects and possibilities available for
sustainable growth and development.
Currently, I have expanded my education and capability to include Mediation. Aside from a
professional interest, I have found Mediation to be an exceptional way to support friends and
community in conflict resolution, negotiation, and for my own personal growth.
