Summer: Ready · Set · Go!
The long, cold winter has made us all that much more ready for this summer season. Our incredible team at Trump
National Charlotte has many great events for all ages; these include both sporting and social activities. Friday, June 13,
the Trump Village Square kicks off a summer of fun with country music recording artist Rockie Lynne. Rockie and his
sensational band play a mix of his country hits and classic rock from the 1980’s.
Throughout the following ten weeks, after our Village Party kick off, some events includes:
	 Golf Sundowners Events
	 Vintner’s Club Dinners
Junior and Older Trumpeteer Weekly Themed Events
	 July 4th
Fireworks and Membership Party
National Antique Boat Show and Party August 15 & 16
Junior Camps for Tennis, Swim, Golf and Fitness Training
In addition, Tennis Social Events, all of the Social Connection Clubs and Holiday parties are on the summer schedule.
See you all summer long at the Club and these great member events.
Sincerely yours,
Gavin Arsenault
General Manager

The course has now had a year to mature and develop which will make for an exciting golf season for everyone.
We look forward to working with our new greens during the summer months. This has not been a luxury that we could
enjoy in the past. Some of the other work that was done during the year included tree removal, bridge repair, lake banks
and plantings.
During the summer, most of our time is consumed by mowing, blowing, edging and bunker maintenance. Our crew is
out working during the day; if you should encounter them please be patient and we will get out of your way as quickly
as possible. We are using equipment that can be loud and/or requires complete attention during operation, and thus we
might not see you at first. Our goal is to get our work done with minimal interaction, with play which allows us to be
moreproductive and ensures that golfers won’t see or hear us.
Due to the cold winter we had some winter kill on our bermudagrass. Winter kill is when the grass dies due to extremly
cold temperatures. Bermudagrass is a warm season grass which does well in this area but is susceptible to winter kill.
All of the affected grass has very little if any sunlight during the winter months. This causes the plant to never thaw out
and die. We did have some snow cover on a few of these areas during one cold snap but not all. As everyone knows we
had to cover our greens to protect them from the cold and they came out of the winter in great shape. There were only a
few thin areas and we continue to address these areas. Please remember to rake your marks in the bunkers. No one wants
to play behind the person who doesn’t rake out their tracks. We look forward to seeing everyone on the course and have
a great summer.

Greetings from the Professional Shop,
It’s hard to believe we are already in the middle of the season and well underway in our tournament schedule. Most of the renovation
work on the course has been completed and just a few minor tweaks are getting finished up. The greens will be thriving in the heat of
these summer months and it will be a fun year to putt on a world class surface, when the rest of the course is in great shape too. The
new bunkers have really settled in and you should see more consistent play from those areas, than last year when they were brand new.
The renovation of the clubhouse building will be continuing and are anticipated to be completed very soon. It’s amazing how great the
changes are looking all over the property!
We have some exciting golf tournaments at the club this summer and also some great Professional golf coming to our state. The Men’s
and Women's US Opens will be played just 90 mile away in Pinehurst. #2 will host back to back weeks of tournament play. It’s always a
treat to go over and see the world’s best players, so try to make it over and experience a US Open.
If you didn’t qualify for the US Open, make sure you add these club events to your schedules and come out and enjoy the course. As
always, we encourage all types of players to come out and get involved. I hope to see you teeing it up soon, in one of our great events.
If you have any questions regarding the tournament schedule, rules of golf or how you can improve your game for the upcoming
season, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

A fter an extremely non-cooperative spring, we have been able to
finish up one of the busiest times of the year. The club had a record 18
Adult USTA teams, 5 ladies Interclub teams, and 5 junior USTA teams.
We are looking forward to an exciting summer filled with our Pro-Am,
summer camps, and a new event, “Breakfast at Wimbledon.” Our Friday
night social events for the juniors have been a fun night for the kids as
well as a night out for the parents. Please check out the calendar for a
few of these nights during the summer. We have picked up a new vendor,
WILSON, so please come by to check out their latest frames as well as the
PRINCE and HEAD frames. I hope everyone enjoys their summer
vacations and hope to see you on the courts.
Sincerely,
Jamey Lowe
Director of Tennis

Staff Spotlight - Jamey Lowe
By Reporter Sue Ratcliff
Jamey Lowe started at the Club back in January 2000 when he was hired as a pro. He became Director of Tennis in 2012 and since then
has built the tennis program to consist of 17 U.S.T.A teams, 5 interclub teams and 5 junior programs. The adult program was always strong,
and so since his appointment he has mainly concentrated his efforts on building up the junior program and other areas such as the pro shop,
which is now one of Prince’s biggest customers, whilst ensuring that the needs of the adult players continued to be met.
Born and raised in Winchester, Virginia, Jamey started playing tennis with his Dad when he was six years old. At thirteen he began taking
lessons from a local pro and found that he had significant natural ability. He practiced regularly but probably not to the extent that some of
the top junior players do nowadays, given the different level of competition at that point. He also played other sports including basketball and
football but found that he enjoyed the personal accountability of tennis and was motivated by his performance as he began to win in
competitions becoming the State Champion while at John Hanley High School. Jamey was awarded a tennis scholarship to Virginia Military
Institute where he played and studied for three years before transferring to Clemson University for his final year. He graduated with two
majors in Economics and Business Administration.
At Clemson and for a few years after that, Jamey didn’t pick up a tennis racquet. “At that point I just felt burnt out,” he explained. Jamey was
living in Charlotte managing restaurants when he saw that The Point was looking for people with Business degrees to open up a golf course.
He applied and subsequently got a call from the Tennis Professional at the time asking him if he was interested in a tennis pro position.
Jamey worked here as a Pro until April 15, 2008 when he took a position as Director of Tennis at Skybrook. In 2012 he was asked to return to
Trump National Golf Club Charlotte as Director of Tennis with a clear focus on building, managing and promoting the program. Since then
the program has gone from strength to strength. “This place is booming,” smiles Jamey, “especially the Junior Program where we now have
about 80 kids playing regularly.” In total there are around 100 ladies playing on Interclub teams and about 50 active men. There are 3 tennis
pros and two additional courts are in the process of being built.
When asked about his coaching style, Jamey emphasizes that he doesn’t have just one approach and that it differs according to the level and
goals of the member, ensuring that he meets the needs of the serious player and that of the younger kids who he wants to have fun and
develop a love for the game. His aim is to make tennis accessible to everyone from 4 years old to 74 and beyond, and to make the Trump
tennis facility one that is welcoming to new members and to total beginners as well as serving the needs of the competitive player. “Our
ladies’ Hit and Giggle group is a great way to start out for lots of people and I want to encourage members who have never played before just
to come along and give it a go,” says Jamey. “I love my job because I am working outside doing something that I love. I also enjoy playing on
some of the same teams as the members and the exhibitions, pro-ams and other events.”
Jamey lives with his wife Amy and children, JT, aged two and Giavanna, aged six in Mooresville. The whole family loves to play tennis and
to travel to the beach and the mountains when they get the chance. Jamey’s tennis hero is John McEnroe. He liked the style of his game; his
serve and volley approach and the fact that he, unlike everyone else, played better when he was upset. Of course he also recognizes the way
that the game has changed over the years due to the level of competition and racquet technology enabling a more powerful, faster game.
Trump National Golf Club, Charlotte, clearly has an outstanding Director of Tennis and a program to accommodate all levels. Whether you
are tempted to try your hand at tennis for the first time or you are a seasoned player who has just moved here or not played for some time,
pay Jamey a visit. He would be pleased to help you get into this fabulous, lifelong game, which provides both healthy competition and an
opportunity to get to know many others in the community.

Changes are happening at Trump National Charlotte. The sprawling lakeside community is taking major
steps to improve the lives of its residents by offering healthier food options at all of its facilities. If you don’t
believe passion can change lives, you’ve never met Trump National member, Brooke Thomas. Brooke is the
founder of 360yourlife… a company dedicated to helping people live a totally healthy life in the areas of
nutrition, beauty, home and stress. Mahatma Gandhi once said, "In a gentle way, you can shake the world.”
Brooke began shaking her world 9 years ago when she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Melanoma, making
lifelong changes to improve the health of her family. It wouldn’t be long before she was shaking her
entire community.
It started with a Farm to Table Dinner at the club in 2012… a ‘testing of the waters’ so to speak. Brooke
believed her neighborhood was ready to make real changes toward a healthier lifestyle. The Certified
Nutritional Consultant was no stranger to taking on major projects. She conducts wellness seminars for large
corporations and integrated healthcare systems. She also recently spoke at the Highway to Health Event
sponsored by HealthCorps which was founded by Dr.Oz. In concert with the talented culinary staff, Brooke
and the club joined forces to bring Trump Wellness to life at Trump National Charlotte.
The dinner featuring world class dishes sold out! Brooke used the opportunity to educate the crowd.
“We need to understand how to nourish our bodies,” says Brooke, “and what is truly fueling our
bodies instead of counting fake ingredients and calories. We need REAL food, not fake food.”
She believes education is the key to making better choices.
With the club's support, Brooke illustrated the importance of supporting local farmers and
explained terms like grass-fed, organic, and anti-inflammatory. Local vendors were on hand
to answer questions from the eager-to-learn crowd. The dinner ignited a buzz throughout the
community. People wanted more. Happy to serve its members, the Trump Bakery consulted
with Brooke to offer new selections. They added a variety of allergy free alternatives like gluten
free pasta and oats, sunbutter, organic snacks and organic almond milk.
Member Sandy Mare says,“Both my children and I are loving the new healthy options at
the general store! It's so convenient to have healthy choices like that so close by. My kids love
putting the kale chips and homemade granola bars in their lunches for school.”
It was clear the changes were the start of something special… a unique partnership between
the club and its members to support healthy living. General Manager Gavin Arsenault and
other key staff members recognized the need within their own families to implement some
changes. Gavin understands that the healthy active lifestyle enjoyed at The Point goes hand
in hand with clean wholesome food. “Personally, I am seeing fantastic results as Brooke’s
eating plans have given me a greater edge as I prepare for the New York City Marathon this
coming fall.”
In February, the club hosted a second dinner. This one was centered on heart healthy eating.
Again a sold out crowd feasted on first class fare including Wild Caught Macadamia Mahi
Mahi and Vegan Lasagna. The Trump wellness initiative isn’t limited to adults. There were
selections for the kids as well, including Fried Gluten Free Chicken Fingers cooked in coconut
oil. Of course, the Trump lifestyle calls for a little luxury so you can bet there was dessert at the
end: Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies, Raw Vegan Key Lime Pie and yes, Dark Chocolate
Fudge. Many of the menu items featured recipes from Brooke’s Thankful 30 recipe guide. The
dinner was again a raging success prompting yet more permanent changes to the club's menu.
“We have received rave reviews every time we introduce one of Brooke’s recipes on our menu, although I believe the cauliflower mashed fauxtatoes have been the most
popular. For our most recent menu, our chefs made the conscious effort to utilize Brooke’s practices throughout the entire range of entrees, not just specifically for the
Healthy Choice Section,” said Gavin.Club member Jackie Pelino raves about the changes. “I love the opportunity to have my family try healthier options when we eat at
the Club! Not having to cook AND educating my family on the right kinds of food choices.....win win!”
The Trump Organization truly believes in their wellness initiative. In the 2 short years since they bought the property the club has gone from using 4 freezers for food to
only using one. Now the club uses organic chicken free from hormones and antibiotics. We use fresh and local produce. Wild fish is flown in on a weekly basis and we
have they best local grass fed beef around. Brooke and Gavin know there is still work to do. This summer the Tavern and poolside menu will feature healthy new options
for families. Member Denise Fiore is quick to point out, “Even the swim team weekly breakfast of champions will offer healthy items this year. I am so grateful to Brooke
Thomas for helping to lead this positive change and healthier shift in this community. We spend more time than ever at the club because of the accessibility to a variety of
healthy food around the facility.”
As Brooke says, “We all have a purpose in this life and we need to have optimal health to fulfill that purpose.” For Gavin, it’s all about the members. He plans to carry the
Trump Wellness initiative to the next level as long as that’s what his members want. And it seems indeed they do! “Clearly Brooke’s passion and enthusiasm are
contagious as the impact from leading a healthier lifestyle has spread throughout our members and staff.”
Brooke appears regularly on NBC's Charlotte Today Show where she is able to share her healthy recipe makeovers and nutritional tips with thousands of viewers. She is
currently working on her latest book to be released this summer but she’d still like to help you! For more information about her services go to 360yourlife.com.

S ummer is finally here! With what seemed to be a non-existent spring, I am sure I am not the only happy to see better
weather coming our way. We have been looking forward to our new menu that will include lighter and healthier choices. As
your Chef, I find it a personal challenge and duty to not only find tasty choices, but healthy ones as well. With that being said
I would like to thank Mrs. Brooke Thomas whose Farm to Table event was not only a success but has helped us pick some of
your favorite healthy items. We’ve also taken some of the club favorites such as the Scallop dish and made them healthier by
removing creamy risotto and substituting roasted fingerling potatoes. Our new menu will also contain local produce as it becomes
available.
With the sun coming our way, we will also be looking to renovate our pool and with it our pool menu. With the goal of
providing you with better options at the pool we will be adding burgers, grilled chicken, and hotdogs as well as fried items that
weren’t available in the past. We will also be serving an array of healthy items to include salads, fresh cut fruit, and healthy
snacks to name a few.
Whether you choose to dine at the Tavern, our pool, or enjoy a night out overlooking the lake I look forward to seeing
you around our club.

3 The course hasnow had a year to mature and develop which will make for an exciting golf season for everyone. We look forward to working with our new greens during the summer months. This has not been a luxury that we could enjoy in the past. Some of the other work that was done during the year included tree removal, bridge repair, lake banks and plantings. During the summer, most of our time is consumed by mowing, blowing, edging and bunker maintenance. Our crew is out working during the day; if you should encounter them please be patient and we will get out of your way as quickly as possible. We are using equipment that can be loud and/or requires complete attention during operation, and thus we might not see you at first. Our goal is to get our work done with minimal interaction, with play which allows us to be moreproductive and ensures that golfers won’t see or hear us. Due to the cold winter we had some winter kill on our bermudagrass. Winter kill is when the grass dies due to extremly cold temperatures. Bermudagrass is a warm season grass which does well in this area but is susceptible to winter kill. All of the affected grass has very little if any sunlight during the winter months. This causes the plant to never thaw out and die. We did have some snow cover on a few of these areas during one cold snap but not all. As everyone knows we had to cover our greens to protect them from the cold and they came out of the winter in great shape. There were only a few thin areas and we continue to address these areas. Please remember to rake your marks in the bunkers. No one wants to play behind the person who doesn’t rake out their tracks. We look forward to seeing everyone on the course and have a great summer. 4 Greetings from theProfessional Shop, It’s hard to believe we are already in the middle of the season and well underway in our tournament schedule. Most of the renovation work on the course has been completed and just a few minor tweaks are getting finished up. The greens will be thriving in the heat of these summer months and it will be a fun year to putt on a world class surface, when the rest of the course is in great shape too. The new bunkers have really settled in and you should see more consistent play from those areas, than last year when they were brand new. The renovation of the clubhouse building will be continuing and are anticipated to be completed very soon. It’s amazing how great the changes are looking all over the property! We have some exciting golf tournaments at the club this summer and also some great Professional golf coming to our state. The Men’s and Women's US Opens will be played just 90 mile away in Pinehurst. #2 will host back to back weeks of tournament play. It’s always a treat to go over and see the world’s best players, so try to make it over and experience a US Open. If you didn’t qualify for the US Open, make sure you add these club events to your schedules and come out and enjoy the course. As always, we encourage all types of players to come out and get involved. I hope to see you teeing it up soon, in one of our great events. If you have any questions regarding the tournament schedule, rules of golf or how you can improve your game for the upcoming season, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Fairways & Greens Jay Mull Director of Golf Friendly Reminders The golf course and practice facilities are only to be used by golfers. No biking, walking, or skateboarding is allowed on the golf course or its cart paths. This is for the safety of our members. In addition, the Outside staff is here to assist you in getting your round started off on the right foot. Please utilize the Bag Drop when coming to the club to play. The Outside staff will load and unload your clubs and inform you of any information you may need to know before heading out on the course. Thank You. 11 Staff Spotlight -Jamey Lowe By Reporter Sue Ratcliff Jamey Lowe started at the Club back in January 2000 when he was hired as a pro. He became Director of Tennis in 2012 and since then has built the tennis program to consist of 17 U.S.T.A teams, 5 interclub teams and 5 junior programs. The adult program was always strong, and so since his appointment he has mainly concentrated his efforts on building up the junior program and other areas such as the pro shop, which is now one of Prince’s biggest customers, whilst ensuring that the needs of the adult players continued to be met. Born and raised in Winchester, Virginia, Jamey started playing tennis with his Dad when he was six years old. At thirteen he began taking lessons from a local pro and found that he had significant natural ability. He practiced regularly but probably not to the extent that some of the top junior players do nowadays, given the different level of competition at that point. He also played other sports including basketball and football but found that he enjoyed the personal accountability of tennis and was motivated by his performance as he began to win in competitions becoming the State Champion while at John Hanley High School. Jamey was awarded a tennis scholarship to Virginia Military Institute where he played and studied for three years before transferring to Clemson University for his final year. He graduated with two majors in Economics and Business Administration. At Clemson and for a few years after that, Jamey didn’t pick up a tennis racquet. “At that point I just felt burnt out,” he explained. Jamey was living in Charlotte managing restaurants when he saw that The Point was looking for people with Business degrees to open up a golf course. He applied and subsequently got a call from the Tennis Professional at the time asking him if he was interested in a tennis pro position. Jamey worked here as a Pro until April 15, 2008 when he took a position as Director of Tennis at Skybrook. In 2012 he was asked to return to Trump National Golf Club Charlotte as Director of Tennis with a clear focus on building, managing and promoting the program. Since then the program has gone from strength to strength. “This place is booming,” smiles Jamey, “especially the Junior Program where we now have about 80 kids playing regularly.” In total there are around 100 ladies playing on Interclub teams and about 50 active men. There are 3 tennis pros and two additional courts are in the process of being built. When asked about his coaching style, Jamey emphasizes that he doesn’t have just one approach and that it differs according to the level and goals of the member, ensuring that he meets the needs of the serious player and that of the younger kids who he wants to have fun and develop a love for the game. His aim is to make tennis accessible to everyone from 4 years old to 74 and beyond, and to make the Trump tennis facility one that is welcoming to new members and to total beginners as well as serving the needs of the competitive player. “Our ladies’ Hit and Giggle group is a great way to start out for lots of people and I want to encourage members who have never played before just to come along and give it a go,” says Jamey. “I love my job because I am working outside doing something that I love. I also enjoy playing on some of the same teams as the members and the exhibitions, pro-ams and other events.” Jamey lives with his wife Amy and children, JT, aged two and Giavanna, aged six in Mooresville. The whole family loves to play tennis and to travel to the beach and the mountains when they get the chance. Jamey’s tennis hero is John McEnroe. He liked the style of his game; his serve and volley approach and the fact that he, unlike everyone else, played better when he was upset. Of course he also recognizes the way that the game has changed over the years due to the level of competition and racquet technology enabling a more powerful, faster game. Trump National Golf Club, Charlotte, clearly has an outstanding Director of Tennis and a program to accommodate all levels. Whether you are tempted to try your hand at tennis for the first time or you are a seasoned player who has just moved here or not played for some time, pay Jamey a visit. He would be pleased to help you get into this fabulous, lifelong game, which provides both healthy competition and an opportunity to get to know many others in the community.

13 By: Allison Andrews Changesare happening at Trump National Charlotte. The sprawling lakeside community is taking major steps to improve the lives of its residents by offering healthier food options at all of its facilities. If you don’t believe passion can change lives, you’ve never met Trump National member, Brooke Thomas. Brooke is the founder of 360yourlife… a company dedicated to helping people live a totally healthy life in the areas of nutrition, beauty, home and stress. Mahatma Gandhi once said, "In a gentle way, you can shake the world.” Brooke began shaking her world 9 years ago when she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Melanoma, making lifelong changes to improve the health of her family. It wouldn’t be long before she was shaking her entire community. It started with a Farm to Table Dinner at the club in 2012… a ‘testing of the waters’ so to speak. Brooke believed her neighborhood was ready to make real changes toward a healthier lifestyle. The Certified Nutritional Consultant was no stranger to taking on major projects. She conducts wellness seminars for large corporations and integrated healthcare systems. She also recently spoke at the Highway to Health Event sponsored by HealthCorps which was founded by Dr.Oz. In concert with the talented culinary staff, Brooke and the club joined forces to bring Trump Wellness to life at Trump National Charlotte. The dinner featuring world class dishes sold out! Brooke used the opportunity to educate the crowd. “We need to understand how to nourish our bodies,” says Brooke, “and what is truly fueling our bodies instead of counting fake ingredients and calories. We need REAL food, not fake food.” She believes education is the key to making better choices. With the club's support, Brooke illustrated the importance of supporting local farmers and explained terms like grass-fed, organic, and anti-inflammatory. Local vendors were on hand to answer questions from the eager-to-learn crowd. The dinner ignited a buzz throughout the community. People wanted more. Happy to serve its members, the Trump Bakery consulted with Brooke to offer new selections. They added a variety of allergy free alternatives like gluten free pasta and oats, sunbutter, organic snacks and organic almond milk. Member Sandy Mare says,“Both my children and I are loving the new healthy options at the general store! It's so convenient to have healthy choices like that so close by. My kids love putting the kale chips and homemade granola bars in their lunches for school.” It was clear the changes were the start of something special… a unique partnership between the club and its members to support healthy living. General Manager Gavin Arsenault and other key staff members recognized the need within their own families to implement some changes. Gavin understands that the healthy active lifestyle enjoyed at The Point goes hand in hand with clean wholesome food. “Personally, I am seeing fantastic results as Brooke’s eating plans have given me a greater edge as I prepare for the New York City Marathon this coming fall.” In February, the club hosted a second dinner. This one was centered on heart healthy eating. Again a sold out crowd feasted on first class fare including Wild Caught Macadamia Mahi Mahi and Vegan Lasagna. The Trump wellness initiative isn’t limited to adults. There were selections for the kids as well, including Fried Gluten Free Chicken Fingers cooked in coconut oil. Of course, the Trump lifestyle calls for a little luxury so you can bet there was dessert at the end: Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies, Raw Vegan Key Lime Pie and yes, Dark Chocolate Fudge. Many of the menu items featured recipes from Brooke’s Thankful 30 recipe guide. The dinner was again a raging success prompting yet more permanent changes to the club's menu. “We have received rave reviews every time we introduce one of Brooke’s recipes on our menu, although I believe the cauliflower mashed fauxtatoes have been the most popular. For our most recent menu, our chefs made the conscious effort to utilize Brooke’s practices throughout the entire range of entrees, not just specifically for the Healthy Choice Section,” said Gavin.Club member Jackie Pelino raves about the changes. “I love the opportunity to have my family try healthier options when we eat at the Club! Not having to cook AND educating my family on the right kinds of food choices.....win win!” The Trump Organization truly believes in their wellness initiative. In the 2 short years since they bought the property the club has gone from using 4 freezers for food to only using one. Now the club uses organic chicken free from hormones and antibiotics. We use fresh and local produce. Wild fish is flown in on a weekly basis and we have they best local grass fed beef around. Brooke and Gavin know there is still work to do. This summer the Tavern and poolside menu will feature healthy new options for families. Member Denise Fiore is quick to point out, “Even the swim team weekly breakfast of champions will offer healthy items this year. I am so grateful to Brooke Thomas for helping to lead this positive change and healthier shift in this community. We spend more time than ever at the club because of the accessibility to a variety of healthy food around the facility.” As Brooke says, “We all have a purpose in this life and we need to have optimal health to fulfill that purpose.” For Gavin, it’s all about the members. He plans to carry the Trump Wellness initiative to the next level as long as that’s what his members want. And it seems indeed they do! “Clearly Brooke’s passion and enthusiasm are contagious as the impact from leading a healthier lifestyle has spread throughout our members and staff.” Brooke appears regularly on NBC's Charlotte Today Show where she is able to share her healthy recipe makeovers and nutritional tips with thousands of viewers. She is currently working on her latest book to be released this summer but she’d still like to help you! For more information about her services go to 360yourlife.com.
