Your Destination Awaits
Every summer, I tend to escape my home
in Ohio and travel elsewhere for some (always) fun and (sometimes) relaxation. Last
year, it was Nevis, a small island in the Caribbean Sea; the year before, the bright lights of
New York City; and the year before that, a family get-together in Myrtle Beach. Though
all three destinations were vastly different in terms of location, culture and overall feel,
they shared one thing in common: I traveled to each by plane.
I’m a travel enthusiast who wants to go to all the places, but
I don’t always have the budget for a plane ticket, nor the time,
for that matter, to do so. But short and sweet affordable weekend
explorations? I can handle that — and you can, too. Here at
LongWeekends, we encourage our readers to take little excursions
to nearby places that can make a world of difference. From
museum day-trips to overnight stays near a lake, your journey
begins here. But, sometimes, knowing where to start is difficult.
Well, we’re here to help.
