Challenge 2 – Adaptation and Constraints
The Depot at Cape Canaveral is almost online, and the depots in the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand will be coming online soon as well.
Our next obstacle is the infrastructure for the base on the moon. The Moon will be used as stopping point on the way to Mars, in addition to serving as the human race’s new home until the colony on Mars is finished.
Due to the way the base was constructed, we have serious power, cooling, and space limitations. You must scale the design down to fit into half of a datacenter rack, or 21U. In addition, we also only have IPV6 network infrastructure on the moon. You must use the same vendors of the design you will be working with, but you can use different product lines. You must tell us what the configuration maximums for the new design are (for example, maximum hosts, VMs, storage capacity), and what your failure tolerance is.

This lesson plan proposes using an interactive "Whack-A-Mole" game on a Smart Board to review math concepts for 7th grade students. The game would split students into two teams to take turns hitting moles for review questions, with the opportunity to earn points for correct answers or steal questions from the other team. By making it a competitive game, it aims to highlight important content and give students a chance to demonstrate their skills in an enthusiastic environment accessible to different types of learners.
The document discusses the development of a new product called the Smart Shaver. It aims to simplify the process of shaving by incorporating hair removal cream into a soft napkin. The product development process involved identifying an unmet consumer need around the time-consuming nature of shaving. Market research was conducted and the idea for the Smart Shaver was generated to address this need. Further stages discussed include concept development and testing, business analysis, test marketing in targeted stores, and finally commercialization with a full marketing plan. Segmentation, targeting and positioning strategies are also outlined to launch the product effectively.

The document discusses font experimentation for a product. It examines several fonts - Fopi Rush, Infected, Riot, Speedy, and Raptor - and evaluates each for traits like energy, simplicity, legibility, boldness, and how they relate to the target audience and product. It determines Riot and Raptor may work for smaller secondary text but a more basic font is needed for smallest text. Color experiments show most colors look better on a black background, so the product will use a black can for the most effective and legible text that also suits the young male target audience.

Our project was to help with Cincinnati Children's Hospital's Horticulture Therapy Program. We assisted the Program Director with maintaining the plants and grounds and preparing a new greenhouse for therapy sessions. The program uses horticulture to help patients at the psychiatric hospital, having them plant and care for plants. Working with plants has therapeutic effects on the children. The program grows vegetables and fruits to feed patients and sell extras to fund the program. A donation was received to build a second greenhouse and activity table to expand the space for the program. The next project is to purchase a new water pump that can service both greenhouses.

In last season we were in the aftermath of a pandemic zombie virus outbreak, which had destroyed most of the worlds civilization. The virus spread was in remission, thus allowing us to start rebuilding core infrastructure as hardware became available. Internet connectivity was restored and multi-site topologies were established.
This document proposes an infrastructure design for a batch processing manufacturing application to save humanity from zombies. The application would utilize AWS services like EC2, S3, SQS, RDS, and Route 53. It would have a web tier on EC2, message queueing via SQS and EC2, and a database backend on RDS. Workers on EC2 instances would poll SQS for jobs, process data from S3 using secret algorithms, and upload outputs to S3 while updating the job status and metrics in RDS. The design aims to provide high availability, scalability, and ease of deployment to reliably manufacture spaceships and save mankind.
This document is an honours dissertation submitted by Cherise Martin to the University of Auckland in November 2015. The dissertation investigates using sodium concentrations in speleothems as a proxy for past wind conditions and storm events in New Zealand. Laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry was used to measure trace element concentrations in two speleothems from Waitomo and Wairoa caves over the period of 0-800 AD. Preliminary results show larger sodium peaks in the Wairoa speleothem that correspond with periods of increased storms identified in nearby lake sediments, suggesting sodium in speleothems may be a useful proxy for reconstructing paleo-wind and storm conditions.

Essentials of Automations: Exploring Attributes & Automation ParametersSafe Software
Building automations in FME Flow can save time, money, and help businesses scale by eliminating data silos and providing data to stakeholders in real-time. One essential component to orchestrating complex automations is the use of attributes & automation parameters (both formerly known as “keys”). In fact, it’s unlikely you’ll ever build an Automation without using these components, but what exactly are they?
Attributes & automation parameters enable the automation author to pass data values from one automation component to the next. During this webinar, our FME Flow Specialists will cover leveraging the three types of these output attributes & parameters in FME Flow: Event, Custom, and Automation. As a bonus, they’ll also be making use of the Split-Merge Block functionality.
You’ll leave this webinar with a better understanding of how to maximize the potential of automations by making use of attributes & automation parameters, with the ultimate goal of setting your enterprise integration workflows up on autopilot.

How information systems are built or acquired puts information, which is what they should be about, in a secondary place. Our language adapted accordingly, and we no longer talk about information systems but applications. Applications evolved in a way to break data into diverse fragments, tightly coupled with applications and expensive to integrate. The result is technical debt, which is re-paid by taking even bigger "loans", resulting in an ever-increasing technical debt. Software engineering and procurement practices work in sync with market forces to maintain this trend. This talk demonstrates how natural this situation is. The question is: can something be done to reverse the trend?

QR Secure: A Hybrid Approach Using Machine Learning and Security Validation F...AlexanderRichford
QR Secure: A Hybrid Approach Using Machine Learning and Security Validation Functions to Prevent Interaction with Malicious QR Codes.
Aim of the Study: The goal of this research was to develop a robust hybrid approach for identifying malicious and insecure URLs derived from QR codes, ensuring safe interactions.
This is achieved through:
Machine Learning Model: Predicts the likelihood of a URL being malicious.
Security Validation Functions: Ensures the derived URL has a valid certificate and proper URL format.
This innovative blend of technology aims to enhance cybersecurity measures and protect users from potential threats hidden within QR codes 🖥 🔒
This study was my first introduction to using ML which has shown me the immense potential of ML in creating more secure digital environments!
Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.
In the realm of cybersecurity, offensive security practices act as a critical shield. By simulating real-world attacks in a controlled environment, these techniques expose vulnerabilities before malicious actors can exploit them. This proactive approach allows manufacturers to identify and fix weaknesses, significantly enhancing system security.
This presentation delves into the development of a system designed to mimic Galileo's Open Service signal using software-defined radio (SDR) technology. We'll begin with a foundational overview of both Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and the intricacies of digital signal processing.
The presentation culminates in a live demonstration. We'll showcase the manipulation of Galileo's Open Service pilot signal, simulating an attack on various software and hardware systems. This practical demonstration serves to highlight the potential consequences of unaddressed vulnerabilities, emphasizing the importance of offensive security practices in safeguarding critical infrastructure.
