The APF held a three-day workshop with representatives from nine national human rights institutions to discuss the Yogyakarta Principles. Their goals were to build understanding of the principles, consider their regional relevance, and exchange information on protecting LGBT rights. IGLHRC spoke about LGBT issues in the region. The workshop resulted in the institutions becoming the first to adopt recommendations from the Yogyakarta Principles, affirming protection of LGBT rights as part of their mandates.
