The plot A wave of kidnappings has swept through Mexico, feeding a growing sense of panic among its wealthier citizens, especially parents.  In one six-day period, there were twenty-four abductions, leading many to hire bodyguards for their children. In Mexico City, the former CIA assassin and presently an alcoholic decadent man  John Creasy  is hired by the industrialist  Samuel Ramos , with the recommendation of his old friend  Rayburn , to be the bodyguard of his young daughter  Pita  and his wife  Lisa .  Pita changes the behavior of the cold Creasy, making him live and smile again, and he feels a great affection for her. When the girl is kidnapped Creasy swears to kill each one responsible for the abduction.
Opening scene analysis The opening scene includes an establishing shot of the Mexico city view Intense Rock music is used as background sound. It produces a fast paced effect and a rough image of the setting Flashing images and inverted colour shots of the city are used to create a race against time feeling Panning shots of streets and cars in fast motion  Foreign voiced narrator - The foreign voice Creates an inference the film involves gangs. Colour effects are used, with quick snapshots of the characters, which creates a bursting colour effect for attention and flashing images to the viewer which conveys speed of time. It keeps the action genre constant.  Upbeat music such as the rock music used in  man on fire , adds a lively atmosphere to the clip and suits the speed of the action. The Close up shots and slow motion filming helps make the characters look more mysterious and creates a criminal image, which can be used to represent the characters.

Earl and Hank soon uncover a sophisticated smuggling operation, led by Nash and his band of  thugs .  When Earl and Hank get their hands on some hot property, they go on the  run  from, first the bad guys, then the L.A.P.D. led by Lt. Washington and Detective McDuff.  What these two unlikely partners do to law enforcement is a  crime , but they just might save the day. That is, if they don't kill each other first.
