I have directly worked with him as his supervisor for three years on the Multi-Service Ward (MSW) at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton. Mr. Thomas is a true leader that effectively assisted in the management, planning, and coordination of 21 corpsmen. During this period he led by example and assisted in patient care when staffing was under manned and/or the census was high. His ability to perform patient care has been lauded by nurses and senior leadership. On numerous occasions HM3 Thomas has prevented Rapid Response Initiation by listening and caring about what his patients have to say; and also by being aware of signs and symptoms of problematic conditions. During this period, he was also responsible ordering all of the supplies on the Ward, and managed an annual budget of over $200k in products. As Training Petty Officer, he assumed the duty with the training percentage being below 90%. And his relentless devotion and dedication brought the training percentage up to 100% readiness accounting for 34 Military/Non- Military personnel. 3.
