shape direction, size,
texture, color, and value.

What are Lines?
●Lines are marks that go
from one point to
another
● They can be straight or
curved
● Lines can show
direction or create
shapes

Types of Lines
1.Vertical: A line that goes straight up and down, like the side of a
bookshelf.
2. Horizontal: A line that goes straight across, like the horizon where
the sky meets the land.
3. Diagonal: A line that slants or slopes, neither vertical nor horizontal.
4. Zigzag: A line with a series of sharp turns in alternating directions,
like the path of a lightning bolt.
5. Thin: A line that has a small width or is not very wide.
6. Thick: A line that has a greater width, being wider than a thin line.
7. Broken: A line that is interrupted by gaps or spaces, not
continuous.
8. Dotted: A line that is made up of a series of dots.

1. Vertical Lines – They suggest height and strength because
they extend towards the sky and seem unshakeable.
2. Horizontal Lines – They suggest width, distance, calmness,
and stability.
3. Diagonal Lines – Suggest movement or lack of stability.
4. Zigzag Lines - They can convey action and excitement, as
well as restlessness and anxiety.
5. Curve Lines – They can be simply wavy or spiral. Such lines
convey feelings of comfort and ease, as well as sensual
quality as they remind us of the human body.
