Basic concepts, best practices, pricing of using BigQuery the analytic data platform at petabyte scale from Google Cloud Platform. There is a lot things to learn about this tool and its features such as BI engine and AI Platform.
With Enterprise data growing rapidly year over year, traditional analytics approaches have proven to be expensive and unyielding. The result is that a growing proportion of our data is unused “dark data”. How can we create the basis for a data driven organization? Enter the "perfect storm" of cloud data analytics tools and approaches.

Prologis: How Data Virtualization Enables Data ScientistsDenodo
Watch full webinar here: https://buff.ly/2VTnSKJ
Data science requires vast amounts of data. And that too from multiple sources. Data virtualization integrates the data across these disparate sources and provides a unified view of the data to data science algorithms. With it, data scientists can deliver important answers to business questions that enable the business users to perform their functions efficiently.
In this session, you will learn:
*The data science requirement at Prologis - cost optimization
*How data virtualization can be used to support data science projects
*Architectural setup with data virtualization feeding data science algorithms
Prepare yourself for an epic (virtual) journey. Using the Veritas Information Map as a guide, this session will take you to seven different data center sites around the world--and show you how Information Map makes it possible to spot risks, lower costs, and deliver incredible value at every stop along the way.

AWS November Webinar Series - Architectural Patterns & Best Practices for Big...Amazon Web Services
The world is producing an ever-increasing volume, velocity, and variety of data. For many consumers, batch analytics is no longer enough; they need sub-second analysis on fast-moving data. AWS delivers many technologies for solving big data problems. But what services should you use, why, when, and how?
If you missed this popular presentation at re:Invent, attend this webinar where we simplify big data processing as a pipeline comprising various stages: ingest, store, process, analyze & visualize. Next, we discuss how to choose the right technology in each stage based on criteria such as data structure, query latency, cost, request rate, item size, data volume, and durability. Finally, we provide a reference architecture, design patterns, and best practices for assembling these technologies to solve your big data problems.
Learning Objectives:
Understand key AWS Big Data services including S3, Amazon EMR, Kinesis, and Redshift
Learn architectural patterns for Big Data
Hear best practices for building Big Data applications on AWS
Didn’t make it to re:Invent? Here’s another chance to attend this popular presentation
Who Should Attend:
Architects, developers and data scientists who are looking to start a Big Data initiative
While there are many Cloud design patterns for infrastructure, there are also many Cloud design patterns for developers. Come and learn how you can take your software design patterns and apply them to the next generation of cloud applications, or simply modernise your existing software architectures.
Speaker: Arden Packeer, Solutions Architect, Amazon Web Services

AWS Cloud Design Patterns (a.k.a. CDP) are generally repeatable solutions to commonly occurring problems in cloud architecting. In this session, we introduce CDP and explain how you can apply CDPs in practical scenarios such as photo sharing, e-commerce, and web site campaigns.
Adapting the capacity of your compute infrastructure to the demands of your applications is the domain of Auto Scaling. Adding and removing Amazon EC2 instances is only part of the story, though – there is more to it than first meets the eye. This session introduces the basics of how to use Auto Scaling before moving on to more advanced topics such as mixing Spot and On-Demand instances to optimize cost or strategies for blue/green deployments. If you have used Auto Scaling before, you can learn about useful new features like lifecycle hooks and step scaling policies that make Auto Scaling even more widely applicable.
AWS Storage and Database Architecture Best Practices (DAT203) | AWS re:Invent...Amazon Web Services
Learn about architecture best practices for combining AWS storage and database technologies. We outline AWS storage options (Amazon EBS, Amazon EC2 Instance Storage, Amazon S3 and Amazon Glacier) along with AWS database options including Amazon ElastiCache (in-memory data store), Amazon RDS (SQL database), Amazon DynamoDB (NoSQL database), Amazon CloudSearch (search), Amazon EMR (hadoop) and Amazon Redshift (data warehouse). Then we discuss how to architect your database tier by using the right database and storage technologies to achieve the required functionality, performance, availability, and durability—at the right cost.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.
