Topic- The spread of misinformation and disinformation in news platforms and social media
outlets
Problem Statement:
Due to the significant rise of social media networks and news platforms in this new era of
internet technology, disinformation and misinformation have become global concerns.
The mass dissemination of false information in news platforms and social media outlets can
profoundly affect how people make decisions. The difficulty, variety, multimodality, and cost of
fact-checking or commentary make misinformation on news platforms nontrivial despite the
present identification rate. This study looks at how people authenticate and spread false
information to fill this vacuum in knowledge.
