1- State of Equilibrium
2- Disruption of Equilibrium
3- Recognition that there has been a disruption
4- Attempt to repair Equilibrium
5- Reinstatement of Equilibrium
An example narrative of these stages:
1- A school that is normal
2- A new girl attends school
3- Find out something, she’s not who they think she is
4- They get rid of the girl or she changes
5- School is back to normal

This theorist’s theory is that there is only a limited amount of characters per
narrative.
Believed there is 31 conventions.
Always have to have a villain which doesn’t have to be a person, it could be
something such as a natural disaster.
1- Hero (Marries princess)
2-Villian
3-Donor (Prepares hero)
4-Dispatcher (Sends hero off journey)
5-False hero (Turns out to be bad)
6- Helper (Helps hero)
7- Princess
8- Father of princess
9- Anti-hero (Trying to take hero’s role.)
