FOOD CLOUD: Thematic cloud for agri, food and nutrition • Support the implementation of EOSC in the thematic fields of agriculture, food and nutrition • Take into account specific needs/opportunities in these thematic fields => 10 M€ investment under Horizon 2020/Societal Challenge 2 (2019) (DT-SFS-26-2019: Food Cloud Demonstrators ) • Build Food Cloud demonstrators that: • increase data findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability, • improve the services provided to research communities • facilitate re-use of data by a wider user community • Focus on use cases that address researchers' needs and FOOD 2030 priorities; • Ensure LT sustainability of demonstrators

- What is the challenge
- -This is very much an iterative process and is about change management where we need to support a move to a data culture and the need for tools and services (including training etc) -Whatever we are doing is not going to be built from scratches, it is very much a federation of existing and future infrastructures and thematic clouds. -Indeed rapid progress in the European Open Science Cloud rests on the fact that this will also be a federation of existing and future Thematic Clouds. - We should not forget why we are doing this: to increase impact of research which means make data work harder for scientists and make sure that research and data gathering has impact on the lives of citizens in our respective fields.
- There is coordination needed between the thematic fields while transiting to data rich science and that are all interested to make their data work better We very much like the fact that through the EOSC declaration there are common standards, principles and culture between the different fields, so that we are all moving in the same direction. The thematic clouds that we have described today have the ambition of being completely interoperable to allow researchers and citizens to leave the silos
