Editor's Notes

  • #7 Different, dynamically emerging goals -> low cost, short time in setting up appropriate envornments Highly collaborative tasks, often across-domains (e.g. fisheries, biology, economics, statistics, environment, mathematics, social sciences, natural sciences, computer science)  support for collaboraton and sharing Knowledge production chain (e.g. collect, access, integrate, analyse and publish data) -> support and sufficient capacity along the entire workflow Heterogeous data sources – transparent access Reproducing, validating and re-using results of others -> authomatic support Limited skill and availability of specific IT Lab -> authomatic support
  • #9 connecting +4000 scientists in 44 countries integrating data from +50 heterogeneous providers executing +55,000 data analysis/month providing access to over a billion quality records in repositories worldwide operating with 99,8% service availability
