The scribes and Pharisees ask Jesus for a sign, but he refuses, saying they are an evil generation for seeking signs rather than having faith. Jesus says the only sign given will be the sign of Jonah - his death and resurrection. As believers operate in the Spirit through agreement and declaration, things can be "tied up" or "released" on earth as determined in heaven. The Spirit convicts people of their need for Jesus and righteousness found only through Him.
