The ZapStitch Culture (an evolving document)
As Tony Hsieh says - “If you get the culture right, most of the other stuff will happen naturally on its own”
Culture - a set of Values 1. These values are behaviors and skills that are valued  in fellow employees 2. These are the reasons we bring people onto the team 3. the reasons we let them go 4. the reasons we promote/reward
Our Values 1. Positive and Transparent Communication 2. Create WoW Experience. Everywhere 3. Pursue Learning and Growth 4. Freedom and Accountability 5. Work Smart. Seek High Performance
Positive and Transparent Communication 1. You approach things in a positive and optimistic way 2. You focus on listening than responding 3. You communicate with 100% transparency and to the point 4. You take the approach that everything is a hypothesis 5. You don’t criticize or condemn team members, customers or anyone
Create a WOW Experience. Everywhere 1. You do something that's above and beyond what's expected 2. You deliver WOW with both service and experience in every possible opportunity 3. You seek to WOW our customers, employees, business partners 4. You seek to WoW YOURSELF
Pursue Learning and Growth • You treat every decision, situation, activity as a learning • You are conscious of your current state and continuously pursue to grow to the next state • You make tough decisions without agonizing. You constantly seek to get out of your comfort zone • You seek to understand our strategy, market, customers, and the entire ecosystem • You imagine everyone at ZapStitch is someone you learn from and give back to
Freedom and Accountability • You do something wrong than ask permission. Or, rather, you do something right and not need permission to do it • You are responsible to complete a job on time • You break it, you own it • You don’t blame for lack of time, people, or resources • You own the rewards of doing something right and the consequences of doing something wrong
Work Smart. Seek High Performance • You Identify root causes and go beyond treating symptoms • You spend 59 minutes on understanding problem, use cases and spend 1 min on solution • You exhibit bias-to-action and avoid analysis-paralysis • You challenge prevailing assumptions and older wisdom • You suggest and execute new and simple solutions to hard problems
Selfless and Best Judgement about ZapStitch • You don’t attach your “self” to your ideas, thoughts, suggestions • You choose what’s best for ZapStitch - rather than best for yourself or your group
