Enter the Premier’s Sustainability Awards andcelebrate more thansustainability
Sustainable Victorians,schools,communitygroups,councilsandcompanies are encouragedtoenterthe Premier’s
SustainabilityAwardsandshare theirsuccessstories.
Withenvironmentalsustainabilityincreasinglylinkedtoeconomicbenefitsandprofitability,jobcreationandimproved
engagementwiththe communityandcustomers,the Awardsare away to not justcelebrate yoursuccesses,buttobuild
the circular economy.
The Premier’sSustainabilityAwardsare opennow andclose on Thursday7 June.
In their16-yearhistory,the Awardshave providedthousandsof Victorians withthe opportunityto notonly showcase
world-classexamplesof sustainabilityinactionbutalsothe wide-rangingbenefitsitcandeliver.
SustainabilityVictoriaCEO,StanKrpan,saidthe Awardscelebrated‘sustainabilitynotforitsownsake,butthe flowon
effectsthatare feltrightthroughoutthe community’.
“We have an incredibledepthof sustainabilitytalentinVictoria –they’re savingenergyandresources,developingand
applyingnewtechnologyreducingandre-purposingwaste,regeneratingnatural andman-made environments,and
savingthreatenedspecies.
“Thiswork leadsnotonlyto environmental good,buttoothertangible benefitsintermsof increasedproductivity,
reducedcosts,manycommunitybenefitsandenhancedreputation,”he said.
There are 10 categoriesinthisyear’sPremier’sSustainabilityAwards,coveringeverytype of sustainabilityendeavor
frommetropolitanMelbournetorural and regional Victoria.The categoriesare:

 Community
 Education
 Environmental Justice
 Environmental Protection
 Government
 Health
 Innovative ProductsorServices
 Small andMediumEnterprises
 Large Business.
As well asawardsin each of these categories,the Premierwillpersonallyselecttwooverall winnersforthe Premier’s
Regional RecognitionAwardandthe Premier’sRecognitionAward.
“We encourage all communityorgovernmentgroups,schoolsororganisations,small orlarge businesseswitha
commitmenttosustainabilitytoenterthe Awardsthisyear,promote theirterrificworkandhighlightthe waystheyhave
benefited,”Mr Krpansaid.
