1. The appearance and important characteristics of
each major character :
› Paulo : a man who never feel satisfy to whatever he
have done and he also have a strong attraction with
magic , specially about guardian angel.
› Chris : a women who is very loyal and patient to Paulo
who has different thought with her.

2. The characters who changed in the story are :
› Chris : she becames obsessed to talk with her guardian
angel and do anything to make it happen. During her
journey she finds out that her courage and strength are
getting bigger and bigger as her soul grow.
› Valhala : she comes to realize the meaning of true
love. Before she met Paulo she never feel the love to
other men that she has to Paulo.
›So both of characters change for the better.

3. Every character have a function in the story.
The function of the minor characters are :
› J : He is a teacher who give learning to Paulo.
› Gene : He show the way to Paulo to see the Valkyries and
gives spiritual lesson to Paulo and Chris.
› Valhala : She gives the ritual to see and speak with the
guardian angel and also enlighten Chris about strength and
courage to defen what is wothy for her.
› Rotha : The youngest member of Valkyries, she join the
Ritual That Demolishes Rituals.
5. Plot
SUMMARY :
The Valkyries tells about a journey in the search of
guardian angel by a man named Paulo with his wife,
Chris. Paulo has a task from his master, J, to speak to his
guardian angel to break the curse and to find the way to
get rid of his fear, because he always thinks that he will
destroy everything that’s important in his life.
J gave a clue to Paulo to meet someone in California
desert. The next day, Paulo and his wife, Chris, had a
journey straight from Los Angeles International Airport to
work on the test that J gave.
During the journey, finally he met Gene, who gives him
word of wisdom and also give the information about The
Valkyries, a group of women on motorcycles who delivers
God’s message to people.
6. Before the second meeting with Gene, they decided
to take a walk in the desert. Because the high of
temperature they put off their clothes. And they are
almost die because dehydration. Then they met
strangers that help them.
These Valkyries teach Paulo how to converse with
his angel trought some rituals of his religion. During
the process, Paulo has to deal with some dilemma
and irony. He also learn how to break the pact that
he had made in his past, to forgive himself for all the
betrayal he did to himself and he also believe that
his angel has protected him every time he is in
danger, the danger of nature, and the danger of
destroying himself. And through all the process
make him able to converse with his angel before he
finally sees his angel’s appearance.
7. Plot
The conflict is about Paulo feel that he need
explanation for what happen to him because he feels
that he want to destroy something worthy in his life and
if he destroy that, he will destroy him too. So he needs
to see and speak his guardian angel to solve the
matter.
8. Plot
Dilemma
When Paulo has to choose between Chris and
Valhala.
Irony
When Chris and Paulo are almost died in the desert.
The story is satisfactory, because in the end of novel,
Paulo ,Chris and Valhala get enlighten and continue
their life.

Theme this novel is Spiritual Lesson. This theme is prove by the
following sentence:
• Paulo get the task of spiritual teachers to seek angel in Las
Vegas, United States
• Paulo first met Gene to help him find an angel.
• Rituals are performed Gene, Paulo, Chris was a failure
because when the ritual, Gene forget to bring a flashlight.
• Paulo and Chris was looking for alocation last Valkyries are.
• Valhalla, the leader of the Valkyries invite them both to
perform rituals at the place the next day.
• In particular mine they perform a ritual.
• After the ritual they parted.
• When Paulo lone guardian angel came to him.
• Paulo when Brazil get a lot of letters from fans. Unconsciously
Paulo reply to onefan letter to him to find that it is a statue of
Our Lady of still there or not
19. Theme
The Author tells a lot of things about his life, career and
his entire view of his Christiant humanist side.
The Author also tells about Faith to God, that God will
always show us the way out of our problems in life
through our faith.

The author’s style are simple and clear-cuts.
but the author wrote this book with the
things that are full of allusions. Ex :
speaking with soul.
