This document outlines plans for Project Armenia, a Silicon Valley Impact Accelerator and Regional Innovation Fund. It will pilot a 12-month startup accelerator program in Yerevan, Armenia, providing $3 million for acceleration and $2 million in startup grants. The goal is to wrap Silicon Valley mentoring and standards around local startups focused on positive social impact. Over 5 years, the program aims to expand to multiple locations and raise an evergreen regional follow-on investment fund to support top startups. The accelerator will screen 250 applicant startups, provide intensive mentoring to 30, and send the top 5 to Silicon Valley for pitching to investors. The project aims to improve jobs, innovation, and progress on UN Sustainable Development
The Sustainable Development Goals—officially known as "Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development"—are an intergovernmental set of 17 aspirational goals and 169 targets. Building post-2015 on the accomplishments of the Millennium Development Goals, but cognizant also of their shortcomings, they combine economic, environmental, and social goals that now apply to all countries. They were developed in a broad two-year consultation process during which civil society, citizens, academics, scientists, and the private sector of all countries had the opportunity to contribute.
Have you ever seen a problem in HCMC and wanted to do something about it?
Are you looking for a meaningful and effective community engagement project for yourself, your company and/or your family?
The Narrow the Gap Community Fund is a chance to join forces with people, like you, who care about our city and want to make it a better place. Throughout the year, LIN accepts cash and in-kind donations from individuals, companies and organizations that would like to partner in the Narrow the Gap Fund.
Measuring social impact with Social return on investment (SROI) at Cogite Cogite coworking space
With the increasing debate about the social investment vs. philanthropic donations, organizations are under the pressure of reviewing the way they demonstrate the impact of their programs for multiple reasons.
SROI = Social Return on Investment – Methodology implemented is inspired by Social Value International. At its core, SROI is a measurement valuing both financial and non-financial outcomes. SROI quantifies and monetizes social impact in a clear and consistent way, enabling stakeholders to measure the achievement of social impact against three primary performance indicators, being appropriateness, effectiveness and efficiency.
