During mania, people experience happiness, excitement, and increased energy, while depression causes low energy, loss of interest, and difficulty making decisions. Bipolar disorder can negatively impact self-esteem, judgment, concentration, and increase the risk of suicide. While the causes are not fully known, genetics and imbalances in brain chemistry likely play a role. Treatment involves medication and psychotherapy to manage mood swings and develop coping strategies. Common medications include lithium, Zyprexa, Seroquel, and Abilify. With proper treatment and support, many people with bipolar disorder can lead happy, successful lives.
The document discusses bipolar disorder, including its symptoms and potential biological causes. Bipolar disorder causes extreme shifts in mood from depression to mania. Studies show it can affect both adults and children. Possible biological causes include abnormal neurotransmitter levels and brain structure differences. Genetics also plays a role, as identical twins have a higher likelihood of both having the disorder. Effective treatment requires a combination of medication, typically lithium or antipsychotics, alongside psychotherapy. More research is still needed on therapy and determining the exact causes of bipolar disorder.
This is characterized by recurrent episodes of mania and depression in the same patient.
Bipolar mood disorder is further classified into two according to DSM IV.

Things Not to Say...| A Presentation by Herrick LiptonHerrick Lipton
The document provides guidance on what not to say to someone who self-harms. It advises against making statements that guilt, shame, or undermine the seriousness of self-harm, as these will not help foster a healthy relationship and may prevent the person from opening up. Some harmful statements to avoid include "How could you do this to me?", "You seem so normal!", and "Can't you just stop?". It also recommends listening more than talking and suggesting the person seek help from a therapist if concerned for their well-being.
Films That Accurately Portray Mental Health | Herrick LiptonHerrick Lipton

Ordinary People tackles PTSD, survivor's guilt, and the stigma around seeking psychiatric help following the accidental death of a son. A Beautiful Mind captures how schizophrenia affected the real life mathematician John Nash's life and career. Silver Linings Playbook shows the emotional rollercoaster of bipolar disorder and two characters helping each other cope.

Write it down, limit caffeine and alcohol, and exercise are some everyday tips to cope with anxiety. Journaling daily can improve mental health by defining thoughts. Caffeine and alcohol can exacerbate anxiety, so use in moderation. Exercise can dull anxiety, and a couple hours a week of moderate exercise can help keep anxiety in check. Deep breathing when feeling anxious can give the mind a quick break.
The Signs and Symptoms of Bipolar DisorderHerrick Lipton
Bipolar disorder is a serious mental illness that affects over 2% of the US population. It is characterized by dramatic mood swings and there are five distinct types: (1) Bipolar 1 Disorder involves periods of mania and depression without a set duration; (2) Bipolar 2 Disorder includes less severe hypomania and depression; (3) Cyclothymia Disorder has shorter periods of hypomania and depression; (4) Mixed Features involves concurrent depression and mania or excess energy with sleep issues; (5) Rapid-Cycling involves manic and depressive episodes lasting days or hours. The document provides an overview of the symptoms of each type of bipolar disorder.

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune DiseaseHealth Advances
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.

Overall life span (LS) was 1671.7±1721.6 days and cumulative 5YS reached 62.4%, 10 years – 50.4%, 20 years – 44.6%. 94 LCP lived more than 5 years without cancer (LS=2958.6±1723.6 days), 22 – more than 10 years (LS=5571±1841.8 days). 67 LCP died because of LC (LS=471.9±344 days). AT significantly improved 5YS (68% vs. 53.7%) (P=0.028 by log-rank test). Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: N0-N12, T3-4, blood cell circuit, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells-CC and blood cells subpopulations), LC cell dynamics, recalcification time, heparin tolerance, prothrombin index, protein, AT, procedure type (P=0.000-0.031). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and N0-12 (rank=1), thrombocytes/CC (rank=2), segmented neutrophils/CC (3), eosinophils/CC (4), erythrocytes/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), stick neutrophils/CC (8), leucocytes/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (error=0.000; area under ROC curve=1.0).
8 Surprising Reasons To Meditate 40 Minutes A Day That Can Change Your Life.pptxHolistified Wellness
We’re talking about Vedic Meditation, a form of meditation that has been around for at least 5,000 years. Back then, the people who lived in the Indus Valley, now known as India and Pakistan, practised meditation as a fundamental part of daily life. This knowledge that has given us yoga and Ayurveda, was known as Veda, hence the name Vedic. And though there are some written records, the practice has been passed down verbally from generation to generation.

2. IT IS NOT
SIMPLY A
CRY FOR
ATTENTION
Have you ever known
someone who was
overly obsessed with
their health and
wellbeing? They
continually went to the
doctor for phantom
illnesses? It is easy to
categorize this type of
person as a liar or
someone who just wants
attention, but more
often than not they are
legitimately suffering
from hypochondria.

WHAT IS
HYPOCHONDRIA?
Hypochondria is a mental illness
where someone will become
obsessed with the idea that they
have a severe health condition that
is undiagnosed.
This obsession leads to extreme
anxiety about their health and the
state of their body.
A simple cold or even a sneeze can
send this person into a frenzy. They
often think that it is indicative of a
much more serious bodily condition.
5. THE SYMPTOMS
Those struggling with hypochondria will be
checking themselves for various illnesses
and thinking of small ailments, such as a
cough or a runny nose, as telling of a much
more serious issue. They will often visit the
doctor frequently or on the adverse, avoid
the doctor altogether because they are
nervous that they will actually learn about
an ailment that they have.

THE INTERNET
IS VERY DANGEROUS
While obsessing about their health, often
hypochondriacs will check online about their
health and possible symptoms to try to self-
diagnose.
The internet makes this condition even more
dangerous. The anxiety that is birthed out of a
hypochondriacs behavior will generally lead to
actual physical issues, such as upset stomachs,
as well.
7. Many who are struggling with
hypochondria can often benefit from
self-help treatment such as avoiding
the internet or looking up potential
symptoms, practicing stress-relieving
techniques and even engaging actively
in a hobby that they enjoy.
For more severe conditions, it is
essential to talk with a therapist about
professional treatment such as
medication or cognitive behavioral
therapy.
