Editor's Notes
Trust, Privacy, and Services at the Edge: The Internet in the IoT session
"The promise of the Internet of Things (IoT) can only be realized if the many & varied interactions between users, things, cloud services, and applications can be secured & trusted. Authentication of these interactions will be mandatory for all but trivial use cases, and user delegated authorization or consent will be necessary for any scenario where potentially privacy sensitive data is collected & transferred (wearables, home automation, health, etc). OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect 1.0 are two authentication & authorization standards that, while not developed specifically with the IoT in mind, promise to serve as important tools for the IoT’s authentication & authorization requirements. We'll examine where these identity standards fit in a generalized IoT architecture by exploring the particular use case of wearable data sharing."
This part goes very quickly. Just emphasize the fact of having 14M of hotspots which we can control and can potentially become IoT gateways.
The firewall open the specific ports (e.g. Allplay related ports) to gran access to the music player to guests (Facebook friends). Reinforce the idea of social music in combination with Allplay.
Allplay builds on top of Alljoyn services. Let’s explot them these capabilities to build IoT related services.

Well, we have 14MM of hotspots. We have the experience of the Gramofon supporting Alljoyn and the social music experience… we can extend this experience to the social home.
Let’s start with what role a gateway can play within the IoT environment.
Onboarding: use it to onboeard the gramofon in a Wifi network when used as a extender or a client.
Configuration and Control panel: expose configuration and control capabilities.
Smart home: the gramofon implementing the smarthome server, acting as an appliance controller / authority controller, which is quite related to the use cases I am explaing in the following slides. (data collector use case is also interesting for analytics). Also IFTTT use cases.
Notifications: regarding the state of the router, regarding events that router capture (music playing).
Gateway agent: manage the access to the alljoyn bus from the internet.
As an owner I would like to manage who can access to my devices and appliances and under what circumstances.
Trust circles based on relationships created in social networks.
Users with established social networks relationship with the owner: The whole home environment experience can be customized per user.
Users without social network relationship: Common guests, the experience can be customized as special group.
Any user connected to the private WiFi signal is considered an owner.
We know that the guest is your friend and he is connected to your WiFi, so we can assume that can have access to some facilities in your home.
This concept can be extended to other venues like hotels.
We should not be thinking only about persons. Also internet services could directly interact with the appliances and owner should also manage their access rights. In the other way around, some internet services are also related to the home and can be handled as another appliances. You can allow your guests also to order a taxi or food without sharing your credentials.
Home is the center of the solution, so delivery of internet services is always linked to your home address and, of course, guests must be at your home.
Seamless: order food to restaurantes.
Fresh direct: online grocery.
How the service is manage both from the owner and guest perspective should be simple.
