Microplastics make their way from our use of consumables and from our homes through wastewater to our waterways. Our use of personal care products allows microbeads to pass through the sewer, and on to our waters with the effluent discharge. Plastic pollution is a global problem with global implications for fisheries, tourism, marine ecosystems and human health.
