The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is a ballet company based in England that was established in 1920 to teach and train young dancers. There are 8 grades within the RAD syllabus that increase in difficulty and require students to pass exams through performances adjudicated by external examiners. Upon completing the 8th grade, students can further their training through 5 vocational levels and, once completed, become qualified to teach. The RAD aims to improve ballet standards globally and is one of the largest dance organizations worldwide with a presence in over 79 countries.

based in England. It is a ballet company that
teaches and trains young dancers that focus
on ballet. The company started in 1920 in
London. The RAD was given a royal charter
in 1935. Queen Elizabeth II is leader and
Darcey Bussel is the current president. He
had replaced Antoinette Sibley who was
president for 21 years.

3.  In the RAD the are 8 grades.
 Each level increases in difficulty. To graduate from each
level everyone has to take and exam. An exam is when an
adjudicator comes to a studio and watches students dance
the syllabic. These usually take place at the end of the
dance season.
 There are also vocationals which are additional levels the
are taken after you graduate grade 8. There are five of
them intermediate foundation, intermediate, advanced
foundation, advanced one and advanced two. When you
have passed all of your exams for these levels you are
able to become a teacher.
