2. Novels by Jane Austen
[1]. The Beautifull Cassandra:- a short novel from Jane Austen's
juvenilia. It is a parody of the melodramatic, sentimental and picaresque novels of the time, and
tells the story of a young woman who sets off into the world to make her fortune.
[2].Catharine, or The Bower:-
Catharine, is an unfinished novel from Jane Austen's juvenilia.
With its realistic setting and characters,
it represents something of a bridge between her early burlesques and
the soberer novels that made her name.

3. [3].Emma :-Emma, by Jane Austen, is a novel about youthful hubris and romantic
misunderstandings. The novel was first published in December 1815, with its title page listing a
publication date of 1816.

until 1871.This early complete work,

novels written by Jane Austen. It was completed in 1803, the first of Austen’s
novels completed in full, but was published posthumously in 1817 with
Persuasion.

published in 1811. It was published anonymously; By A Lady appears on the title page where
the author's name might have been.

[1]. The Abbot:-The Abbot (1820) is a historical novel by Sir Walter Scott, one of the Waverley novels. A sequel to The
Monastery, its action takes place in 1567 and 1568.
[2]. Anne of Geierstein:-Anne of Geierstein, or The Maiden of the Mist (1829) is
one of the Waverley novels by Sir Walter Scott. It is set in Central Europe, mainly in
Switzerland, shortly after the Yorkist victory at the Battle of Tewkesbury (1471).

character of an antiquary: an amateur historian, archaeologist and collector of items of dubious antiquity.

Set in the Welsh Marches in the 12th century it is the first of two Tales of the Crusaders,
the second being The Talisman.

Scotland, it forms, along with The Black Dwarf, the 1st series of his Tales of My Landlord (1816).
[20] .Peveril of the Peak:-Peveril of the Peak (1823) is the longest novel by Sir Walter Scott.
Along with Ivanhoe, Kenilworth, and Woodstock this is one of the English novels in the Waverley novels
series, with the main action taking place around 1678 in the Peak District, the Isle of Man, and London,
and centring on the Popish Plot.
