Cutting, suicidal thoughts, and other self-destructive tendencies are real parts of life, though they're some of the saddest and most broken parts of life. So we're spending 2 weeks specifically bringing healing to that area!
130707 chi jesus' temptation by ps. peter calvineaglepointcf
Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert where he fasted for 40 days and was tempted by Satan. Satan tempted Jesus to turn stones into bread when he was hungry, offered him authority over all the kingdoms of the world if he worshipped Satan, and challenged Jesus to throw himself from the highest point of the temple and have angels save him. Each time, Jesus responded by quoting scripture to defend himself. Satan tried to manipulate Jesus' needs, offer shortcuts, and twist scripture to challenge Jesus' faith, but Jesus relied on knowing and properly interpreting the Bible to withstand each temptation.
In this series, we will look at the non-stop action that occurs in one 24-hour day described in Mathew 14 and Mark 6. In the first sermon, we will look at how Jesus handles bad news and more bad news, as he learns of the death of John the Baptist and Herod's evil intent concerning Jesus. We will consider how to remain strong when we get a double dose of bad news.
This document discusses the transformation of the Apostle Peter from an impulsive and overconfident man to a rock of the early church. It outlines key facts about Peter from the gospels, including that he was the first disciple called and the one spoken to most often by Jesus. As Simon, Peter was unembarrassedly self-confident and unquestionably impulsive. The document argues that two keys led to Peter's transformation: proximity to Jesus and developing humility and teachability. It encourages applying these lessons by prioritizing time with Jesus and cultivating true humility.
1) Jesus heals a man with leprosy who asks if Jesus is willing to heal him.
2) Jesus touches the man and says "I am willing. Be healed." The man is instantly healed of his leprosy.
3) Jesus tells the man to show himself to the priest and make an offering as required by the law of Moses, but news of Jesus' healing power spreads rapidly and large crowds come to hear him preach and heal people.
This document provides details about an upcoming Re-Union Conference. The purpose is to gather people who were previously connected to the NCC PE Vision ministry. Details provided include that the conference was conceived in 2016 and started in 2017. It will be held on Thursday to allow time to prepare for visitors. The main goals are fellowship and making the vision of being kingdom-minded practical by gathering together. The document then provides the scripture and sermon details for the conference, including a reading from Matthew 28 about Jesus' appearance after resurrection and instructions to the disciples to meet him in Galilee.
Jesus likely used humor in his teachings to engage with crowds and draw more people in. However, much of the humor from his time does not translate well due to issues with translation, oral transmission of stories, and lack of understanding tone and delivery. The New Testament shows evidence that Jesus used puns, humorous anecdotes, irony, hyperbole, and humorous parables. Whether all of these instances were meant as humor is still debated.
This document discusses Jesus as a model for rest. It describes instances from the Bible where Jesus withdrew from crowds to spend time alone in prayer and rest. These passages show that Jesus made time for rest early in the morning, later in the day after teaching crowds, and encouraged his disciples to do the same. The document presents Jesus as the ideal example of making rest a priority and suggests that rest requires effort.
There is a temptation to stop at Christmas and not complete the Journey with Jesus. This year we face the harsh reality that Christmas is not the ending but the beginning of a whole new adventure.

21st October 2016 - Miracles of Jesus Healing 10 men suffering from leprosy...Thorn Group Pvt Ltd
Jesus performed two miracles of healing on the Sabbath day. First, he healed 10 men with leprosy, of whom only one, a Samaritan, returned to thank Jesus. Second, Jesus healed a man with dropsy (edema) at a meal with Pharisees who were watching him closely. When Jesus asked if it was lawful to heal on the Sabbath, the Pharisees remained silent. Jesus then healed the man and sent him away.
The master, the mind, the motive, the methodkab510
In this lesson we examine Jesus, the Master teacher, the mind of those who opposed His teaching and what they were motivated by. In the second lesson we will examine how the motive led to the method of His death. Both slides and audio can be found together at www.cmcoc.org
Sermon by: Brian Birdow
In the last hours before His suffering Jesus will provide teaching concerning the judgement coming on the Jewish nation, and how His Apostles will remember Him after He is gone. (Mark 13:1-14:72)
This document discusses how to care for lost people based on examples from the Bible. It references Jesus welcoming those with faith weaknesses, and healing a blind man so God's works would be displayed. Jesus healed a leper with a touch and said kind words. He also raised a synagogue leader's daughter from death when others had given up hope, showing people should never stop believing. These Jesus-like acts of compassion exemplify how to care for the lost.
That You Joy May Be Full: BYU Women's Conference Address 2018MeckMom.com
This document contains excerpts from talks given at the 2018 BYU Women's Conference with the theme of seeking joy. The excerpts encourage seeking joy through asking God for spiritual sight, letting faith overcome fear, turning outward in service, finding what is needful, accepting Christ's help to bear life's burdens, and believing that through faith all things are possible. Scriptures and quotes provide guidance on strengthening faith, overcoming trouble, and finding happiness through forgiveness, living gospel principles, and dedicating efforts to helping others.
Moses had a painful past that he wanted to forget, having killed an Egyptian man. This caused him pain and he was reminded of it by others. For 40 years he lived as a foreigner in Midian, stuck in his past. However, God called Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt despite Moses' protests that he was unworthy. God assured Moses that He would be with Moses and empower him for the task. Moses eventually obeyed God's call and overcame being stuck in his painful past.
Just one touch from the Lord changes everything. We recount stories of Jesus touching people out of His compassion, and people touching Jesus in faith. Expect His touch on your life.

The document discusses different types of auras and their meanings. A neutral aura indicates a clear sense of self and ability to set healthy boundaries. A fuzzy aura means lack of clear boundaries and tendency to take on others' issues. A spiky aura signifies feeling threatened and ready for conflict due to a history of abuse. The document also provides summaries of the 14 Stations of the Cross from the Bible describing Jesus' condemnation, crucifixion and burial.

Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and return to the Father. He loved his disciples completely as the Passover feast was about to begin. Jesus showed this love for his disciples until the end as he knew his hour had come to depart from this world.
This document discusses the importance of determination by comparing Jesus, Moses, and Paul, who all had a holy mission and determination to accomplish their tasks. It contrasts determination, which involves obeying God's will, with defiance, which is rebelling against God. It warns that God judges defiance severely, as seen when he destroyed unbelievers in the past. The document encourages having a determination that relies on God, holds firmly to truth even during hard times, and presses toward the goal, in order to avoid an evil heart of unbelief that fails to enter God's rest.
This document summarizes a passage from the Gospel of John recounting Jesus' trial before Pontius Pilate and his crucifixion. It describes how Pilate had Jesus flogged and the soldiers mocked him by dressing him in a purple robe and crown of thorns. Pilate declared he found no guilt in Jesus, but the Jewish leaders demanded his crucifixion. Pilate reluctantly handed Jesus over to be crucified to appease the crowd.
Power of cleansing - Gospel of Mark 1 - Adam BirrAdam Birr
Jesus heals a man with leprosy by touching him and saying "Be clean!" The leprosy immediately leaves the man and he is cleansed. Jesus instructs the man to show himself to the priest and offer sacrifices as testimony to his cleansing, but also warns him not to tell anyone. However, the man disobeys and begins freely telling people about his healing. As a result, Jesus can no longer enter towns openly but stays outside in lonely places, though people still come to him from everywhere.
The document discusses why Jesus was rejected by the people during his time, noting that he was not the type of king they expected and did not follow the traditions of the elders. It also examines how Jesus reacted to rejection, including being unable to perform great miracles in towns that lacked faith. Finally, it considers how people nowadays show they reject Jesus, such as by being unbelievers or failing to keep his commandments despite being believers.

1) A group of men brought a paralyzed man on a mat to Jesus but could not get through the crowd. They made an opening in the roof and lowered the man down in front of Jesus.
2) Jesus saw their faith and forgave the man's sins. Teachers of the law thought Jesus was blaspheming by claiming the power to forgive sins, which only God can do.
3) Jesus asked if it was easier to say sins were forgiven or tell the paralyzed man to walk. He then told the man to get up, take his mat, and go home to show he had power on Earth to forgive sins. The man was healed and everyone praised God.

This document discusses phrasal verbs, which are verbs made of two or three words in English. The first word is the main verb, followed by an adverb or preposition called a particle. Phrasal verbs are very common in spoken English. To understand their meanings, you need to use a dictionary. The document provides examples of common phrasal verbs used to describe relationships, such as "ask someone out", "break up with someone", and "get over someone or something". Some phrasal verbs are separable, meaning the object can go between the verb and particle, while others keep the object at the end.
This document summarizes stories from the Bible where individuals who encountered Jesus were unable to remain silent about their experiences. It describes how a man with leprosy, a man possessed by demons, and a Samaritan woman at a well all encountered Jesus and experienced healing or salvation. After their interactions with Jesus, they went and shared the news of what had happened with others, despite being warned in some cases to remain silent. The document encourages readers that when filled with the love of God, they too cannot remain silent, but must share the message of salvation.
Jesus calms a storm on a lake and heals a demon-possessed man. When they arrive at Gerasenes, a man possessed by demons comes to meet Jesus. The demons recognize Jesus and beg him not to torture them. Jesus commands the demons to leave the man. The demons then enter a herd of pigs, causing them to run into the lake and drown. The healed man is found sitting at Jesus' feet, fully clothed and sane. The people then beg Jesus to leave their town.
1) Jesus encounters a demon-possessed man in the land of the Gerasenes. The man lives among tombs and is naked and homeless.
2) Jesus commands the evil spirit to leave the man. The spirit identifies itself as Legion, indicating it is many demons.
3) The demons beg Jesus not to punish them and instead allow them to enter a nearby herd of pigs. Jesus allows it, causing the pigs to run down a hillside and drown in a lake.
The disciples were disappointed after Jesus died, expecting Him to establish His kingdom. However, on Sunday morning Jesus rose from the dead. The soldiers guarding His tomb reported this to the priests, who bribed them to say the disciples stole Jesus' body. Mary Magdalene and other women also found the tomb empty, encountering angels who said Jesus was alive. Mary then told the disciples she had seen the risen Jesus.
The document discusses the biblical story of Jesus casting demons out of a man in the region of Gerasenes. It notes that the man, though formerly demon-possessed, went on to proclaim what Jesus had done for him in 10 cities despite having no formal missionary training. The key qualification he had was a life-transforming encounter with Christ. The document encourages readers by asking where their own mission field is and if they too are qualified, suggesting that a personal experience of God's mercy and power can qualify one to share it with others.
Pilate argued that Jesus was innocent but the crowd demanded He be crucified instead of the criminal Barabbas. Jesus suffered greatly carrying His cross and was crucified between two thieves. One thief mocked Jesus while the other recognized His innocence and asked to be remembered by Jesus in His kingdom. Jesus promised him salvation. With His dying words, Jesus commended His spirit to God and died, and events like an earthquake and temple curtain tearing showed God's involvement in His death.
This document contains passages from the Gospel of Mark describing Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection. It discusses how Jesus was crucified between two thieves, mocked by those passing by, and how darkness fell over the land from noon until 3pm. When Jesus died, the temple curtain was torn in two. After his death, a Roman soldier declared Jesus to be the Son of God. The document then describes how Mary and other women discovered the stone had been rolled away from Jesus' tomb and an angel told them he had risen from the dead.
The document provides information about Activated Ministries, including contact details for distributors around the world to obtain books, audio, video and other resources. It also includes a short editorial piece reflecting on how Jesus' disciples kept his message and teachings alive after his death by sharing the gospel with others, which allowed Christianity to spread worldwide. The piece argues that without the disciples' efforts, millions may not have come to know Jesus as their savior.
This document summarizes Jesus's final week before his crucifixion according to the Gospels. It describes Jesus entering Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, cleansing the temple, teaching in the temple about the end times. It then describes Judas agreeing to betray Jesus, the Last Supper, Jesus's prayer in Gethsemane, his arrest, trials, condemnation to death, crucifixion on Good Friday, his final words before dying, and the earthquake and temple curtain tearing upon his death. The conclusion emphasizes Jesus's power was still evident while suffering on the cross through his promise to the thief.
1) Jesus was crucified and died on the cross. He was placed in a tomb and a large stone was rolled in front of it.
2) On Sunday, some women went to Jesus' tomb and found it empty. An angel told them that Jesus was alive.
3) Jesus' disciples were told that He had risen from the dead on the third day, as He had said. The news of Jesus' resurrection spread rapidly.
This message is Part 1 of the series “The Miracle Of Mercy” by Pastor Chuck Bernal. In this message Pastor Chuck defines the Biblical concept of mercy and how mercy describes the character of God more than anything else. He then shares the 3 reasons why we all need mercy and how we can receive it. The message was delivered at LifePointe Church on Sunday, September 18, 2016.
This document contains multiple passages from the Gospel of Mark describing Jesus' encounters with demons and healings. It recounts Jesus exorcising demons from a man among tombs, the demons entering a herd of pigs who then drown in the sea. It also summarizes Jesus healing a woman with a 12-year illness by touching her garment and raising a ruler's daughter from death when she was reported to have died.
Jesus performed numerous miracles that were witnessed by thousands and recorded by believers and non-believers alike. These miracles included healing people of various illnesses and injuries, walking on water, feeding large crowds with few resources, and resurrecting the dead. The document lists over 20 specific miracles performed by Jesus that are recorded in the New Testament, providing evidence of his divinity through supernatural acts with many eyewitnesses.
Flyover - Part 5: The Gospel of John, pt. IIVintage Church
The document contains various passages related to Easter, including an opening prayer, thoughts on the resurrection, summaries of the Gospel stories, information on why the Gospels were written, and details from the book of John. It discusses how resurrection hope is about meaningful existence in God's kingdom, not disembodied existence in heaven. It also contains analysis of key aspects of John's Gospel, such as the seven signs and seven titles of Jesus.
This series entitled 24 focuses on one of Jesus' longest days of ministry... a non-stop 24 hour day described in Matthew 14, Mark 6 and Luke 9. Today's message is entitled "Can't shut down if I try!" We will see Jesus make several attempts to get alone and recharge, but time and time again Jesus is interrupted. All the while, He invites others to rest, and continues to show compassion on needy people. Here is an example for us to follow when immersed in the needs of others.
1) Frank Pollard gave a sermon based on Mark 9 titled "When It Is Time To Leave the Huddle". He discussed how Jesus, Peter, James, and John had a mountaintop experience but then had to go into the valley to serve others.
2) Jesus, Peter, and John encountered a boy with an unclean spirit that the disciples could not cast out. Jesus cast it out and said "all things are possible for one who believes".
3) Pollard said believers need to have mountaintop experiences with God but also obey their assignment to share the gospel and serve others. Leaving the huddle to fulfill their purpose is more important than just understanding it.
Sadness and sorrow are inexorably woven in the fabric of life. We cannot escape loss. So, how can grief be good? How can we look as "loss" as possible "gain"?
The document summarizes the Easter story according to the Bible. It describes how Jesus' death by crucifixion fulfilled prophecies from the Old Testament. It then discusses Jesus' resurrection three days later, which proved he was the Son of God. The summary concludes by inviting readers to accept Jesus as their savior.

This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.

the Gerasenes. When Jesus got out of the
boat, a man with an evil spirit came from
the tombs to meet him. This man lived in
the tombs, and no one could bind him any
more, not even with a chain. For he had
often been chained hand and foot, but he
tore the chains apart and broke the irons
on his feet. No one was strong enough to
subdue him. Night and day among the
tombs and in the hills he would cry out
and cut himself with stones.

Those tending the pigs ran off and
reported this in the town and countryside,
and the people went out to see what had
happened. When they came to Jesus, they
saw the man who had been possessed by
the legion of demons, sitting there,
dressed and in his right mind; and they
were afraid. Those who had seen it told
the people what had happened to the
demon–possessed man—and told about
the pigs as well. Then the people began to
plead with Jesus to leave their region.

Ahab reported to Jezebel everything that
Elijah had done, including the massacre of
the prophets. Jezebel immediately sent a
messenger to Elijah with her threat: “The
gods will get you for this and I’ll get even
with you! By this time tomorrow you’ll be as
dead as any one of those prophets.”
When Elijah saw how things were, he ran for
dear life to Beersheba, far in the south of
Judah. He left his young servant there and
then went on into the desert another day’s
journey. He came to a lone broom bush and
collapsed in its shade, wanting in the worst
way to be done with it all—to just die:

“Enough of this, God! Take my life—I’m ready
to join my ancestors in the grave!” Exhausted,
he fell asleep under the lone broom bush.
Suddenly an angel shook him awake and said,
“Get up and eat!”
He looked around and, to his surprise, right by
his head were a loaf of bread baked on some
coals and a jug of water. He ate the meal and
went back to sleep.
The angel of God came back, shook him
awake again, and said, “Get up and eat some
more—you’ve got a long journey ahead of
you.”
He got up, ate and drank his fill, and set out.
