This study aimed to quantify the stigma surrounding medically assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid dependence in Oxford Houses across Maryland. The researchers surveyed 89 residents and found that nearly 15% were currently using MAT. However, less than a quarter of those disclosed their MAT use. Approximately two-thirds would accept a resident using MAT, and around 80% perceived positive attitudes towards MAT in recovery communities. Overall, a third of residents held negative views of MAT.
