A learnership is a work-based education and training programme that is linked to a qualification registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) with the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA). Learnerships are occupational directed programmes that consist of both structured theoretical learning and practical workplace (on-the-job) experience. The duration of a learnership is approximately twelve months, and results in a full national qualification. CTU has over 14 Registered ICT Learnerships up to NQF Level 5 and 6.
At CTU the learnership best practice is identified as follows:
• All training is Instructor Led

• Learners attend workplace for the rest of day
Various other options can be offered, however CTU suggests the 6 months theoretical sessions and 6 months’ workplace experience as the best alternative to the above method.
Learnership groups smaller than 20 will fall into the Full-time Career Programme commencing in the month of February each year, groups larger than 20 are not restricted to specific starting dates and can be customized according to client’s needs.
For companies who successfuly complete and submit a workplace skills plan and annual training report and include learnership programmes within the plan, submit a letter of intent to their relative SETAs receive grants to fund these methods of learning. Employers can receive even further funding incentives when implementing learnerships, via tax relief (rebate) for each learnership agreement entered into.
CTU developed and registered Skills Development Programmes (SDP’s) specifically for learners whom would like to up-skill themselves whilst earning credits towards National Qualifications. The Learner will study certain electives, enabling them to gain valuable training in the various SDP’s. CTU assists the Learners with building of Portfolios of Evidence (POE’s) whilst the Learner is working and gaining Workplace Experience too. CTU has registered the SDP’s with the relevant SETA’s, thereby adhering to legislation governing SDP’s. Assessing and Moderating of the Learners POE is also part of the learning experience, enabling credits to be claimed.
The Skills Development Act (No. 97 of 1998) recognises the provision of skills programmes as the most dynamic feature of the emerging education and training system in South Africa. User, customer and human mindsets can coexist at the same time. This causes misunderstanding between people and organisations like when approaching users with customer information. Investing in advertising and promotion increases the number of users, and improving usability and attractiveness might result in higher usage. However, these activities do little for the one who decides, pays, and expects value for money AKA the customer.

SMCR The Chicken & The Pig with GRC2020 & SureCloudSureCloud
How do you measure and understand the shift in culture and accountability that SMCR, and other accountability regulations, have on your organisation?
UK SMCR is a driving force around the world in accountability regulations. What started with the UK FCA has propagated itself in Australia BEAR, Ireland SEAR, Hong Kong MIC, and more. These accountability regulations are driving a fundamental shift in the culture of accountability for risk and compliance within financial services. Using the breakfast metaphor, we will illustrate the fundamental change for responsibility to accountability in a simple way. The chicken that delivers your eggs is interested in the meal, but the pig who becomes your bacon is committed to the breakfast.
This slideshow delivers an understanding of the culture change and impact that accountability regulations, like SMCR, have on financial services organisations. Michael Rasmussen, of GRC 20/20 Research, will detail his findings and interactions with the culture change to accountability he sees from these regulations. SureCloud's Product Marketing Director Matthew Davies will demonstrate how the SureCloud solution helps you to gain control of your SMCR requirements and report on your SMCR overall status.

Lifting the Corporate Veil. Power Point Presentationseri bangash
"Lifting the Corporate Veil" is a legal concept that refers to the judicial act of disregarding the separate legal personality of a corporation or limited liability company (LLC). Normally, a corporation is considered a legal entity separate from its shareholders or members, meaning that the personal assets of shareholders or members are protected from the liabilities of the corporation. However, there are certain situations where courts may decide to "pierce" or "lift" the corporate veil, holding shareholders or members personally liable for the debts or actions of the corporation.
Here are some common scenarios in which courts might lift the corporate veil:
Fraud or Illegality: If shareholders or members use the corporate structure to perpetrate fraud, evade legal obligations, or engage in illegal activities, courts may disregard the corporate entity and hold those individuals personally liable.
Undercapitalization: If a corporation is formed with insufficient capital to conduct its intended business and meet its foreseeable liabilities, and this lack of capitalization results in harm to creditors or other parties, courts may lift the corporate veil to hold shareholders or members liable.
Failure to Observe Corporate Formalities: Corporations and LLCs are required to observe certain formalities, such as holding regular meetings, maintaining separate financial records, and avoiding commingling of personal and corporate assets. If these formalities are not observed and the corporate structure is used as a mere façade, courts may disregard the corporate entity.
Alter Ego: If there is such a unity of interest and ownership between the corporation and its shareholders or members that the separate personalities of the corporation and the individuals no longer exist, courts may treat the corporation as the alter ego of its owners and hold them personally liable.
Group Enterprises: In some cases, where multiple corporations are closely related or form part of a single economic unit, courts may pierce the corporate veil to achieve equity, particularly if one corporation's actions harm creditors or other stakeholders and the corporate structure is being used to shield culpable parties from liability.

employers of the service providers?

SA, 2017): employee

Shifting sands

being digitized
▪ Fractionalisation of work and working time: multitude of
ad hoc contractual arrangements
▪ Triangular relationships: the platform
▪ Distinction economic/non-economic and
independent/subordinate is blurred

The tension ahead
▪ Sharing economy = networks & trust
▪ To grow up = brand, uniformity, quality, reliability, control,
training, bargaining, …
To do = to die?

Some food for thought
▪ ‘Uberification’ of work is not around the corner
▪ Technology blurs old distinctions, and is not going away
▪ Participation and polarization at the same time
▪ Networks = price fixing + winner takes all = anti-trust threat
▪ Systemic issues of jurisdiction and access to justice
▪ Time to blend for ‘economic worker’ status?
▪ A updated framework for casual/mini work?
▪ A special group category?
