Effect of Internal Control on the Financial Performance of a Rwanda Public Or...ijtsrd
The study was conducted to examine the internal control systems and financial performance of Rwanda Revenue Authority which has a total population of 90 employees in all departments at head quarter from which the sample size of 90 respondents were randomly selected by using universal sampling method. The study used both qualitative and quantitative since the major findings from the field was descriptively presented through the use of tables and graphs for easy understanding and interpretation. The study had three objectives which includes, to examine the effect of Control Environment on the financial performance of RRA Institution, to examine the role of control activities on the financial performance of RRA Institution, to examine the effect of internal audit on financial performance of RRA Institution. The study used both primary and secondary data in collecting data. The study used cross sectional survey design in which the survey questionnaire was used to collect the required data. The results showed that beta=0.652 with the p values of 0.00 and t value of 4.906 which is greater than 1.96. Since the p value is less than 0.05, the researcher confirmed the positive hypothesis and saying that Control Environment affect financial performance. On the other side, the results showed that beta=0.513 with the p values of 0.00 and t value of 4.699 greater than 1.96. Since the p value is less than 0.05, the researcher observed the positive hypothesis and conclude that Control Activities affect financial performance. Lastly, as per the table no.14, beta=0.852 with the p values of 0.001 and t value of 3.493 greater than 1.96. Since the p value is less than 0.05, the researcher observed the positive hypothesis and conclude that Internal Audit affect financial performance. The researcher recommends the following due to the results from respondents There is still a need in in preventing corruption existing in paying taxes whereas some businesses do not pay the exact amount of taxes they should pay due to corruption. Most of the times, these types of businesses can be classified into two categories. The first category includes business owners who do not expose all commercial activities they are running. There is a need in sensitizing Rwandans about the use of taxes. They are used for different purposes including building infrastructure, education, and healthcare, just to name a few. Lastly, the government of Rwanda should introduce a system that prevent people from tax evasion. One more highlight that I can give here is like how the introduction of speed governors limited the number of accidents. There is a need in introducing a new system that can bring changes and discourage tax evaders. Effect of Portfolio Diversification on Commercial Banks Financial Performance...inventionjournals
The study examined the effect of portfolio diversification on Commercial Banks financial performance. Mixed method of research design was used and data was collected using questionnaires and interview schedules. Target population was 43 licensed Commercial Banks in Kenya from which one hundred and thirty three (133) managers were randomly selected to form sample size. Validity of the research instruments was ensured through content, face and construct validity testing. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics which included correlation analysis and bivariate regression analysis. The study established a positive statistically significant relationship between portfolio diversification and financial performance. The portfolio diversification explained 68% of the changes in the financial performance of commercial banks in Kenya and that most banks diversify their investments which has enabled them to increase profits and performance in the past years. The study recommended that financial institutions should invest in a combination of assets which are negatively correlated because this maximizes revenue (returns) and minimizes losses (risks). Further study should be undertaken to establish the best combination of assets that can yield an efficient portfolio.
Relationship between Risk Committee Existence and Financial Performance of Co...Dr. Amarjeet Singh
Performance of some banks in Kenya has been
declining leading to their collapse or receivership. This may be
attributed to many factors such as risk exposure. In bid to
protect the financial sector, Central Bank of Kenya therefore
directed all the banks to manage risks. One of the mechanisms
used by the banks to manage risks is risk committee. Some
banks established risk committees while others did not. There
is limited knowledge on the relationship between this risks
committee and financial performance in commercial banks.
This study therefore aimed at determining the relationship
between risk committee existence and financial performance
of commercial banks. The target population was all
commercial banks operating in Kenya. The study adopted
longitudinal research design that covered a period of five
years (2013- 2017). The study used secondary data extracted
from annual consolidated and financial reports. Information
on specific financial performance indicator was RoA (return
on assets) and risk committee existence was extracted from
annual reports. Data was analyzed using SPSS by way of
regression analysis. The study found that there is a significant
positive relationship between risk committee existence and
financial performance where the coefficient was r=0.299. The
results showed that the model explained 9% (R2 = 0.09,
Adjusted R2
= 0.1084, F (1) = 17.301, p=0.000, p˂0.05). This
shows that 9 percent in the variations of RoA can be explained
by risk committee existence. From the results, it is evident that
risk committee existence and RoA have a significant positive
relationship. The study recommends that commercial banks
should fully implement risk committees in their operations.
This will help the commercial banks to manage risk exposure
and improve their financial performance.

The target population for this study comprised of 384 employees of the Kenyan Public Organizations. The study adopted a random sampling technique in selecting the sample, with a sample size of 384 employees from afore mentioned organizations. Data was collected mainly through questionnaires administered in google forms.
Descriptive statistics were used in this study aided by STATA version 14 to compute percentages of respondents’ answers. Inferential statistics using ordered logistic regression were applied to examine the relationship between research variables. Tables and charts were used to present the analyzed results. The study findings revealed that good governance principles have an impact to the sustainable organization performance in the Kenyan public sector. The study recommends that the public organization should embrace good governance principles in carrying out their operations and further study to be done in this regard to determine why some parameters of good governance were statistically insignificant.
Forensic Accounting and Integrated Financial Reporting of Banks using HausmanIJAEMSJORNAL
This study examined forensic accounting and integrated financial reporting of listed banks in Ghana. The study aimed to examine forensic accounting effects on the integrated financial reporting of the listed banks. Its specific objectives determined the impact Litigations, Claims, Fraud cases reported, Cost of forensic investigation and Non-performing loans (LCFCN) have on integrated financial reporting variables such as corporate social responsibility – CSR. Integrated financial reporting (IFR) is the dependent variable while forensic accounting (FA) is the independent variable. In line with these stated objectives, five research questions and five hypotheses were formulated and it adopted the ex-post facto research design. The population of study constitutes 24 listed banks in Ghana, only 8 listed banks was selected through a purposive sampling. The data for the study was purely secondary and sourced from related books of the banks via Central Banks bulletin (Ghana), African financials and banks reports for a period of 16years from 2004-2020. Moreover, data were analyzed using the descriptive statistics, the Shapiro -Wilk test for a diagnostic check for normality and a combination of the panel regression analysis with the Hausman test which aided appropriately specification whether the analysis should be done with a fixed effect or random effect model of which the fixed effect was used for the interpretation at (P 0.050 < 0.10). In nations analyzed, the results among others demonstrated that forensic accounting and integrated financial reporting were statistically significant at 1%, 5%, and 10% as claims is positive and have significant effect on CSR (β = 64687.53, P<0.10); Non-performing loans is statistically significant and had a negative effect on CSR (β = -2.934, P= 0.054 @ 0.10). The study hence concludes that the effective implementation of forensic accounting had a constructive and significant effect on the integrated financial reporting of listed banks in Ghana. The study recommends among others that the apex banks should mandate banks to incorporate forensic accounting when reassessing their employability skill set, report production, debt administration and management, and portray fairness virtue in their reporting system so as to attract more investment and positive public image.
This research work investigated the influence of firm size on the financial performance of deposit money banks quoted on the Nigerian stock exchange. The research work is necessitated by the need to find the factors that respond positively or negatively to the financial performance of deposit money banks in Nigeria. Five deposit money banks were sampled with the aid of Taro Yemeni sampling technique to represent the entire banking industry in Nigeria. The firm size proxied by log of total assets represents the explanatory variable while the financial performance measured by profitability proxied by return on asset is the dependent variable. The analysis was conducted using the pooled OLS regression and fixed effect/random effect regression with the aid of STATA for panel regression. In addition, descriptive statistics and correlation analysis were computed. The finding of the study indicates that firm size insignificantly negatively influenced financial performance as a result of diseconomies of scale. The study therefore recommends that the industry should minimize the cost of expansion and enjoy maximum benefits of economies of scale in addition to other factors that may stimulate financial performance should be considered instead of the firm size that indicate insignificantly negative effect.
Liquidity and Financial Performance A Correlational Analysis of Quoted Non Fi...ijtsrd
This study explored the interactions between liquidity and the financial performance of quoted non financial firms in Ghana. The study was correlational as it sought to examine the relationship between liquidity and the firms' viability. From the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient technique of data analysis, liquidity had a significant relationship with the firms' financial performance as measured by ROA, but insignificant relationship with the firms' financial performance as measured by ROE and ROCE. Based on the findings, the study recommended among others that, the firms can improve their final bottom line by proficiently handling their liquid resources.

The Impact of Digital Media on the Decentralization of Power and the Erosion ...ijtsrd
The impact of digital media on the distribution of power and the weakening of traditional gatekeepers has gained considerable attention in recent years. The adoption of digital technologies and the internet has resulted in declining influence and power for traditional gatekeepers such as publishing houses and news organizations. Simultaneously, digital media has facilitated the emergence of new voices and players in the media industry. Digital medias impact on power decentralization and gatekeeper erosion is visible in several ways. One significant aspect is the democratization of information, which enables anyone with an internet connection to publish and share content globally, leading to citizen journalism and bypassing traditional gatekeepers. Another aspect is the disruption of conventional media industry business models, as traditional organizations struggle to adjust to the decrease in advertising revenue and the rise of digital platforms. Alternative business models, such as subscription models and crowdfunding, have become more prevalent, leading to the emergence of new players. Overall, the impact of digital media on the distribution of power and the weakening of traditional gatekeepers has brought about significant changes in the media landscape and the way information is shared. Further research is required to fully comprehend the implications of these changes and their impact on society. The Role of Mentoring and Its Influence on the Effectiveness of the Teaching ...ijtsrd
This paper reports on a study which was conducted to investigate the role of mentoring and its influence on the effectiveness of the teaching of Physics in secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. The study adopted the convergent parallel mixed methods design, focusing on respondents in secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected, analysed separately, and the results were compared to see if the findings confirm or disconfirm each other. The quantitative analysis found that majority of the respondents 72 of Physics teachers affirmed that they had more experienced colleagues as mentors to help build their confidence, improve their teaching, and help them improve their effectiveness and efficiency in guiding learners’ achievements. Only 28 of the respondents disagreed with these statements. With majority respondents 72 agreeing with the statements, it implies that in most secondary schools, experienced Physics teachers act as mentors to build teachers’ confidence in teaching and improving students’ learning. The interview qualitative data analysis summarized how secondary school Principals use meetings with mentors and mentees to promote mentorship in the school milieu. This has helped strengthen teachers’ classroom practices in secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. With the results confirming each other, the study recommends that mentoring should focus on helping teachers employ social interactions and instructional practices feedback and clarity in teaching that have direct measurable impact on students’ learning achievements. Design Simulation and Hardware Construction of an Arduino Microcontroller Bas...ijtsrd
This study primarily focuses on the design of a high side buck converter using an Arduino microcontroller. The converter is specifically intended for use in DC DC applications, particularly in standalone solar PV systems where the PV output voltage exceeds the load or battery voltage. To evaluate the performance of the converter, simulation experiments are conducted using Proteus Software. These simulations provide insights into the input and output voltages, currents, powers, and efficiency under different state of charge SoC conditions of a 12V,70Ah rechargeable lead acid battery. Additionally, the hardware design of the converter is implemented, and practical data is collected through operation, monitoring, and recording. By comparing the simulation results with the practical results, the efficiency and performance of the designed converter are assessed. The findings indicate that while the buck converter is suitable for practical use in standalone PV systems, its efficiency is compromised due to a lower output current. Sustainable Energy by Paul A. Adekunte | Matthew N. O. Sadiku | Janet O. Sadikuijtsrd
Energy becomes sustainable if it meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Some of the definitions of sustainable energy include the considerations of environmental aspects such as greenhouse gas emissions, social, and economic aspects such as energy poverty. Generally far more sustainable than fossil fuel are renewable energy sources such as wind, hydroelectric power, solar, and geothermal energy sources. Worthy of note is that some renewable energy projects, like the clearing of forests to produce biofuels, can cause severe environmental damage. The sustainability of nuclear power which is a low carbon source is highly debated because of concerns about radioactive waste, nuclear proliferation, and accidents. The switching from coal to natural gas has environmental benefits, including a lower climate impact, but could lead to delay in switching to more sustainable options. “Carbon capture and storage” can be built into power plants to remove the carbon dioxide CO2 emissions, but this technology is expensive and has rarely been implemented. Leading non renewable energy sources around the world is fossil fuels, coal, petroleum, and natural gas. Nuclear energy is usually considered another non renewable energy source, although nuclear energy itself is a renewable energy source, but the material used in nuclear power plants is not. The paper addresses the issue of sustainable energy, its attendant benefits to the future generation, and humanity in general. Paul A. Adekunte | Matthew N. O. Sadiku | Janet O. Concepts for Sudan Survey Act Implementations Executive Regulations and Stand...ijtsrd
This paper aims to outline the executive regulations, survey standards, and specifications required for the implementation of the Sudan Survey Act, and for regulating and organizing all surveying work activities in Sudan. The act has been discussed for more than 5 years. The Land Survey Act was initiated by the Sudan Survey Authority and all official legislations were headed by the Sudan Ministry of Justice till it was issued in 2022. The paper presents conceptual guidelines to be used for the Survey Act implementation and to regulate the survey work practice, standardizing the field surveys, processing, quality control, procedures, and the processes related to survey work carried out by the stakeholders and relevant authorities in Sudan. The conceptual guidelines are meant to improve the quality and harmonization of geospatial data and to aid decision making processes as well as geospatial information systems. The established comprehensive executive regulations will govern and regulate the implementation of the Sudan Survey Geomatics Act in all surveying and mapping practices undertaken by the Sudan Survey Authority SSA and state local survey departments for public or private sector organizations. The targeted standards and specifications include the reference frame, projection, coordinate systems, and the guidelines and specifications that must be followed in the field of survey work, processes, and mapping products. In the last few decades, there has been a growing awareness of the importance of geomatics activities and measurements on the Earths surface in space and time, together with observing and mapping the changes. In such cases, data must be captured promptly, standardized, and obtained with more accuracy and specified in much detail. The paper will also highlight the current situation in Sudan, the degree to which survey standards are used, the problems encountered, and the errors that arise from not using the standards and survey specifications. Towards the Implementation of the Sudan Interpolated Geoid Model Khartoum Sta...ijtsrd
The discussions between ellipsoid and geoid have invoked many researchers during the recent decades, especially during the GNSS technology era, which had witnessed a great deal of development but still geoid undulation requires more investigations. To figure out a solution for Sudans local geoid, this research has tried to intake the possibility of determining the geoid model by following two approaches, gravimetric and geometrical geoid model determination, by making use of GNSS leveling benchmarks at Khartoum state. The Benchmarks are well distributed in the study area, in which, the horizontal coordinates and the height above the ellipsoid have been observed by GNSS while orthometric heights were carried out using precise leveling. The Global Geopotential Model GGM represented in EGM2008 has been exploited to figure out the geoid undulation at the benchmarks in the study area. This is followed by a fitting process, that has been done to suit the geoid undulation data which has been computed using GNSS leveling data and geoid undulation inspired by the EGM2008. Two geoid surfaces were created after the fitting process to ensure that they are identical and both of them could be counted for getting the same geoid undulation with an acceptable accuracy. In this respect, statistical operation played an important role in ensuring the consistency and integrity of the model by applying cross validation techniques splitting the data into training and testing datasets for building the geoid model and testing its eligibility. The geometrical solution for geoid undulation computation has been utilized by applying straightforward equations that facilitate the calculation of the geoid undulation directly through applying statistical techniques for the GNSS leveling data of the study area to get the common equation parameters values that could be utilized to calculate geoid undulation of any position in the study area within the claimed accuracy. Both systems were checked and proved eligible to be used within the study area with acceptable accuracy which may contribute to solving the geoid undulation problem in the Khartoum area, and be further generalized to determine the geoid model over the entire country, and this could be considered in the future, for regional and continental geoid model. Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

and the results show that there is very strong correlation between control environment and Risk assessment of
banking institutions in Rwanda as Pearson correlation is 0.953. The p-value is 0.000, which is less than both
standard significance levels of 0.05 and 0.01.
The results show that there is very strong correlation between information system and control activities in
banking institutions as Pearson correlation is 0.807. The p-value is 0.000, which is less than both standard
significance levels of 0.05 and 0.01; there is very strong correlation between information system and risk
assessment of banking institutions in Rwanda as Pearson correlation is 0.730. The p-value is 0.000, which is less
than both standard significance levels of 0.05 and 0.01. The results also show that there is strong correlation
between information systemand control environment of banking institutions in Rwanda as Pearson correlation is
0.545. The p-value is 0.000, which is less than both standard significance levels of 0.05 and 0.01.
Hypothesis Testing
In this study, we have used the regression analysis test to verify the research hypotheses.
Testing Ho1
Ho1: Control activities has no significant effect on performance of financial institutions in Rwanda.

Table 4.9 indicates the value of R-square in this study is 87.3% means that the proportion of financial
performance as dependent variable is explained by the independent variables (Control Activities) at 87.3%. This
indicates that the model is very strong, as the independent variable very highly explain the dependent variable.
The adjusted R-square is used to compensate for additional variable in the model. In this case, the adjusted R-
square is 87.2%.

Findings on Profitability ratios
The profitability analyses are achieved on a set of indicators to measure the banking performances. The
indicators result/arise from the accounting dates, which illustrate the reference periods in the synthetic
expressions of balance sheet and the profit and loss account.
Gross profit ratio
Gross profit ratio is one of the profitability ratio that compares gross margin of a business to the net sales; it also
measures how profitable a company sells its inventory or merchandise. In other words, this is the pure profit
from sale of inventory or services that can go to pay operating expenses. This study analyzed five years of gross
profit ratio of GTBank Rwanda as calculated to assess how the Bank has made profits.

Liquidity ratio in GTBank Rwanda
The liquidity is understood in terms of flows (as opposed to stocks), in other words, it is a flow concept. In
ability of doing so would render the financial entity liquid. This is similar to the current ratio but inventory is
removed from the current assets due to its poor liquidity in the short term.
Current ratio
The liquidity refers to the unhindered flows among the agents of the financial system, with a particular focus on
the flows among the central bank, commercial banks and markets. The liquidity refers to the ability of realizing
these flows.

Summary of Major Findings
The specific objectives of this studywere determining
the influence of control activities on financial
performance of banking institutions in Rwanda; to
establish the influence of risk assessment on financial
performance of banking institutions in Rwanda; to
investigate the result of control environment on
financial performance of banking institutions in
Rwanda; to examine the result of information and
communication on financial performance of banking
institutions in Rwanda; and to establish the effect of
monitoring on financial performance of banking
institutions in Rwanda.
Conclusions
According to the findings on correlation matrix
indicated in Table 4.8 confirmed that there is very
strong correlation between financial performance and
Control Activities of banking institutions as Pearson
correlation is 0.935. The p-value is 0.000, which is
less than standard significance levels of 0.01; the
results show also very strong correlation between
financial performance and Risk assessment of
banking institutions in Rwanda as Pearson correlation
is 0.782. The p-value is 0.000, which is less than
standard significance levels of 0.01. The results
indicated very strong correlation between financial
performance and Control environment of banking
institutions in Rwanda as Pearson correlation is 0.715
with the p-value of 0.000, which is less than standard
significance levels of 0.01. The results also show that
there is strong correlation between financial
performance and Information System of banking
institutions in Rwanda as Pearson correlation is
0.682, with the p-value of 0.000, which is less than
standard significance levels of 0.01. This indicates
that the model is strong, as the independent variable
highly explain the dependent variable. The adjusted
R-square is used to compensate for additional
variable in the model. In this case, the adjusted R-
square is 66.4%.
