• China is located in East Asia and is the world's third-largest country by area,
covering approximately 9.6 million square kilometres (3.7 million square miles). It
shares borders with 14 countries, including Russia, India, and several Central
Asian nations. China's diverse geography includes vast plains, high plateaus (such
as the Tibetan Plateau), deserts (like the Gobi Desert), and extensive coastlines
along the East China Sea, South China Sea, and Yellow Sea. The country's
geography has played a significant role in shaping its history, culture, and
economic development.

China had the world's largest population, with over 1.4 billion people. Its population has
been a subject of global interest due to its size and demographic trends. China's government
has implemented various policies over the years, including the one-child policy (which was
later relaxed), to control population growth.
Demographically, China was experiencing challenges related to an aging population, gender
imbalances, and urbanization. Please note that population figures may have changed since
then, so it's a good idea to check the latest statistics for the most up-to-date information
China will no longer have world's largest population by 2023, UN study reveals.
China expected to experience a population decline which will see its total go from 1.426 billion currently to
1.317 billion by 2050.
Ethinicity
04
叁
China serves as home to 56 official ethnic groups. The largest
group, the Han, makes up over 92% of China's vast
population, and it is the elements of Han civilization regraded
as "Chinese culture”
However, it is also home to 55 recognized ethnic minority groups,
such as the Tibetan, Uighur, and Mongol populations, each with its
own distinct culture, language, and traditions. This diversity
contributes to China's rich cultural tapestry and complex social
dynamics.
