6. The most widely accepted explanation
is the big bang theory. Learn about the
explosion that started it all and how
the universe grew from the size of an
atom to encompass everything in
existence today.

7. EXPLANATION OF THE BIG BANG THEORY
Before the 20th century, many cultures had
their own creation myths to explain the origin
of the universe.
In the early 20th century, astronomers such as
Edwin Hubble observed that distant galaxies
are moving away from us, and the farther they
are, the faster they are receding.
This discovery suggested that the universe is
expanding.
The theory proposes that the universe
originated from a hot, dense state
approximately 13.8 billion years ago.
8. In the first few minutes after the Big Bang, the universe was extremely
hot and dense.
During this phase, nuclear reactions occurred, forming light elements
like hydrogen, helium, and lithium.
The predictions of these nuclear reactions match the observed
abundances of light elements in the universe, providing strong
evidence for the Big Bang theory.
Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation (CMB):
As the universe expanded and cooled, the intense radiation that filled
it began to decouple from matter.
Today, we observe this radiation as the Cosmic Microwave
Background, a faint glow that permeates the entire universe.
The discovery of the CMB in 1965 provided additional evidence for
the Big Bang theory.

9. Inflationary cosmology
Inflation is a hypothetical period of extremely
rapid expansion of the universe that occurred
just fractions of a second after the Big Bang.
Inflationary cosmology helps explain certain
features of the universe, such as its large-
scale uniformity and flatness.
While still a subject of ongoing research,
inflationary cosmology is widely accepted
within the scientific community.
10. Steady state universe
The steady state hypothesis states
that matter and energy are being
created continuously, steadily.
The universe has always been
expanding and creating matter, and
it will continue to do so.
11. Level ii multiverse
The multiverse concept
postulates that multiple
universes exist, simultaneously,
and they each have different
physical constants.
