requirements, then click OK. Your code should now compile again. Next add fields for the head
and tail. These will be of type Node. Create a getHead method which returns your head field, and
a getTail method which returns your tail field. Run your main method now and you will see that
there is a NullPointerException because the add method does not actually add anything to the
list, so head and tail will always be null. Complete the method boolean add(T value) for which
IntelliJ gave you a stub. You need to create a new node with value to add at the end of the list.
This means you will need to connect it to the old tail and update tail to point to the node you
created. Make sure that you handle the case where the list is empty and both head and tail should
be set to the new node you've created. Note: For the full Map I assignment, add will need to
prevent duplicate values being added to the list and should return true or false based on whether
the value was added or not. For this lab, you can ignore this requirement and simply return true.

Inspect the class declaration for a doubly-linked list node in Node.java. Access Node.java by

non contiguous and dynamic datastructure called LinkedList. A linked list object is
a container consisting of connected ListNode objects. As before, we are not going
to use pre-fabricated classes from the c++ library, but construct the LinkedList

tasked with implementing a find & add method for the skiplist. Here is my program, I'm running
into a segmentation fault when I add my second value into the skiplist. My first issue that I fixed
was that I wasn't checking the first node in the list to see if it was nullptr, but that was not my
only issue apparently.

The internal structure of the Linked List is a doubly linked Node data structure and should have
at a minimum the following specifications:
data fields: The data fields to declare are private and you will keep track of the size of the list with
the variable size and the start of the list with the reference variable data.
first is a reference variable for the first Node<E> in the list.
last is a reference variable for the last Node<E> in the list.
size keeps track of the number of nodes in the list of type int. This will allow you to know the
current size of the list without having to traversing the list.
constructors: The overloaded constructors will initialize the data fields size and data.
A constructor that is a default constructor initializes the starting node location first and size to a
zero equivalent, that is, constructs an empty list.
methods: methods that manages the behavior of the linked nodes.

Step 1: Inspect the Node.java file
Inspect the class declaration for a doubly-linked list node in Node.java. Access Node.java by
clicking on the orange arrow next to LabProgram.java at the top of the coding window. The
Node class has three fields:
a double data value,
a reference to the next node, and
a reference to the previous node.
Each field is protected. So code outside of the class must use the provided getter and setter
methods to get or set a field.
Node.java is read only, since no changes are required.
Step 2: Implement the insert() method
A class for a sorted, doubly-linked list is declared in SortedNumberList.java. Implement the
SortedNumberList class's insert() method. The method must create a new node with the
parameter value, then insert the node into the proper sorted position in the linked list. Ex:
Suppose a SortedNumberList's current list is 23 47.25 86, then insert(33.5) is called. A new
node with data value 33.5 is created and inserted between 23 and 47.25, thus preserving the list's
sorted order and yielding: 23 35.5 47.25 86
Step 3: Test in develop mode
Code in main() takes a space-separated list of numbers and inserts each into a SortedNumberList.
The list is displayed after each insertion. Ex: If input is

Try various program inputs, ensuring that each outputs a sorted list.
Step 4: Implement the remove() method
Implement the SortedNumberList class's remove() method. The method takes a parameter for the
number to be removed from the list. If the number does not exist in the list, the list is not
changed and false is returned. Otherwise, the first instance of the number is removed from the
list and true is returned.
Uncomment the commented-out part in main() that reads a second input line and removes
numbers from the list. Test in develop mode to ensure that insertion and removal both work
properly, then submit code for grading. Ex: If input is

non contiguous and dynamic datastructure called LinkedList. A linked list object is
a container consisting of connected ListNode objects. As before, we are not going
to use pre-fabricated classes from the c++ library, but construct the LinkedList
ADT from scratch.

Im creating a skip list program for my Algorithms and Advanced Data.pdf
I'm creating a skip list program for my Algorithms and Advanced Data Structure class. I was
tasked with implementing a find & add method for the skiplist. Here is my program, I'm running
into a segmentation fault when I add my second value into the skiplist. My first issue that I fixed
was that I wasn't checking the first node in the list to see if it was nullptr, but that was not my
only issue apparently.

This assignment will require that you develop a research-based report demonstrating theory and research methodology related to your social issue.
In your paper
Describe two to three theories that relate to your topic area in some manner. To accommodate the broad spectrum of social issues that might be explored, aim to find theories that attempt to explain some the following areas:
The reason(s) for why the social issue exists or persists
Factors that contribute to it
Social, environmental, political, or economic considerations that underlie it
Emerging alternative viewpoints that clarify the issue
Critically evaluate the theories described, taking into account their benefits and limitations, as well as how health and human service organizations might use them to better understand the scope of the issue.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic Imperative
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing.
