The short film "The Most Beautiful Thing" is about a teenager who believes a girl he likes is ignoring him, but discovers she is deaf. They communicate through a notebook and grow closer. He later sees her with another boy and misunderstands the situation. She explains the other boy kissed her without consent. The film follows conventions of short films by having a small cast, a storyline, and taking place primarily on a bench where the couple met. It explores themes of never judging based on appearances, love, and strength.

5. Following conventions
• 'The most beautiful thing' follows the typical conventions of a short film as it's
10minutes long, it has very few characters. The main characters are the boy
who is looking for a prom date and the deaf girl he starts to like. There is a story
line to follow to keep he audience interested as we want to find out if they stay
together in the end. There is a main place where the majority of the action takes
place which is the bench where the main couple first met. There is a twist
involved as the girl he believes is ignoring him is in fact deaf. Finally this can be
related to every day life as anyone asking anyone to prom has the fear of being
rejected or going alone!
