3. What is Li-Fi ?
LI-FI STANDS FOR LIGHT FIDELITY AND LI-FI IS TRANSMISSION
TECHNOLOGY OF DATA THROUGH ILLUMINATION.
LED BULB VARIES IN INTENSITY FASTER THAN THE HUMAN EYE CAN
FOLLOW.
LI-FI IS A TECHNOLOGY THAT USES THE LIGHT EMITTING
DIODES TO TRANSMIT THE DATAWIRELESSLY.
LI-FI IS FAST AND CHEAP OPTICAL VERSION OF WI-FI BASED ON
VISIBLE LIGHT COMMUNICATION (VLC).

4. History of Li-Fi
1- The beginnings
A German physicist Dr. Harald Haas, has started working on transmission of data using visible light back in 2004.
In the year 2011 he first introduced to the world this new technology, LI FI in the TED talk show.
He envisions a future where data for laptops and other mobile devices is transmitted through a light in a room.

5. History of Li-Fi
2- Radio Waves Issues
Capacity : Radio waves are limitted, scarce and expensive and we only have certain range of it.
Efficiency : Too many eadio bases station that consume massive amount of energy.
Availabality : Can not be used on airplanes and under water.
Security : Penetrates through walls and can be intercepted.

7. Specifications of Li-Fi
2- Li-Fi construction
The LiFi product consists of 4 primary sub-assemblies:
1. Bulb
2. Printed Circuit Board (PCB)
3. Radio Frequencey Power Amplifier Circuit (PA)
4. Enclosure

9. Specifications of Li-Fi
4- Advantages of Li-Fi
Capacity :10000times more spectrum than Radio waves.
Efficiency : Data through illumination and thus data transmission comes for free.
Availabality :There Are An Estimated 14 Billion Light Sources On Earth And Each Can Be Easily
Converted IntoA Li-Fi Hotspot.
Security : Light waves doesn’t penetrate through walls. Can’t be intercepted.

10. Specifications of Li-Fi
5- Limitations of Li-Fi
Visible light can not penetrate solid object
Hight installation cost of the VLC
Interferences from external light sources
Interference with other electromagnetic waves

11. Specifications of Li-Fi
6- Applications of Li-Fi
Can be used in the places where it is difficult to lay the optical fiber
In aircraft Li-Fi can be used to transmit data
Li-Fi can be used for modern medical instruments
.In traffic signals Li-Fi can be used

12. Conclusion
The possibilities are numerous and can be explored further. If this technology can be put
into practical use, every bulb can be used something like Wi-Fi hotspot to transmit wireless
data and we will proceed onwards the
Cleaner, Greener, Safer and Brighter future.
