The Cloud: A Game-Changer for Web Performance TestingFred Beringer
Today in retail, financial services, media, telecommunications and a host of other industries, more and more business is transacted through consumer web sites and mobile applications. With new channels creating spikes in traffic, highly complex system architectures, and internet-savvy customers, websites and web applications must be tested at scale to maximize business results and avoid a catastrophic crash. However, whether due to time or cost or other reasons, upwards of 90 percent of web applications are not fully tested before launching. If testing is done, many times it's with a small percent of expected traffic, which is then extrapolated for an estimation of performance.
Cloud computing is changing the game for testing web applications. Cloud testing enables, for the first time, performance testing that complements the lab and accounts for the conditions in a production environment, such as traffic spikes, network latency, firewalls, and other factors. And it can be done far more affordably than traditional testing methods, as part of agile development cycles, and without an army of highly skilled performance engineers.

There are still a lot of websites out there based on shared hosting and either dedicated or virtual server infrastructure. That’s what SMBs and web professionals are used to so let’s continue doing business as usual. Are you sure? Current technologies like Docker and architectural styles like Microservices are changing the game - especially for young start-ups in the growing web scene. Traditional hosters will have to adapt to these new requirements and take their infrastructure to the next level in order to stay competitive. But how? In this talk we’ll have a close look how start-ups and market leaders like Zalando develop their websites today and why AWS is often their preferred Cloud Service Provider. But, cloud offerings are far more painful as they appear and CMS communities live in a parallel universe - let’s have a look at the future of Web Development.

GOTO Copenhagen - Radical Agility with Autonomous Teams and Microservices in ...Jan Löffler
What we've built at Zalando is complex. Supporting – profitably – a publicly traded ecommerce company that does business in 15 diverse European markets, with more than 16 million active users who all speak different languages, use different payment methods, prefer different shipping methods, and have different product tastes, has required nonstop innovation. Until recently we've focused on building a unified, comprehensive retail system, quickly, that solves just our problems. But to truly fight against complexity--particularly the accidental complexity that slows down our development process--we have adopted a microservices architecture. And when it comes to DevOps, we’ve gone a step beyond the "You build it, you run it" motto--working in autonomous teams with DevOps treated as a "first-class entity.”
In this talk, Jan Löffler (Head of Platform Engineering) will share Zalando's experience implementing “Radical Agility” from a DevOps perspective. “Radical Agility” is the Zalando technology team’s multi-pronged approach to managing the complexity that results from building an architecture of massive size. Jan will focus on how microservices enable Zalando’s engineers to move faster and build systems that scale, at scale, and avoid dependencies. He will show how microservices, in conjunction with a cloud infrastructure, support teams as they try strive for autonomy. Finally, he will draw upon his experiences to show how this all works in practice, and discuss what is organizationally and architecturally necessary to make DevOps a top priority for all members of your tech organization.

Zalando - The Big Switch - ForgeRock Identity Summit 2015Jan Löffler
Zalando is a publicly traded e-commerce company that does business in 15 European markets and has more than 15 million active customers of very diverse origin. These customers speak various languages, have different tastes for products and styles, use different methods of payment, prefer different ways of having goods shipped, and require nonstop innovation.
Until very recently, Zalando focused on building a unified, comprehensive retail system, a system built on mutual trust with the sole purpose to solve just our problems. However, during the early years of Zalando’s existence, identity and access management has been neglected allowing for inconsistencies that cannot keep up with company growth. Zalando strives to focus on what its customers truly need. We not only had to rethink the way we are building our systems, we also had to change how Identity and Access Management is perceived. Following the motto “”You build it, you run it”” autonomous teams are end-to-end responsible for their own applications – which means they are also entrusted with securing them.
In this talk, Christian Kunert (Engineer) and Jan Löffler (Head of Platform Engineering) will take the audience on a journey. A journey of treacherous approaches, ill considered solutions and dangerous routes. Zalando has embarked on a voyage of epic proportions out of their classical datacenter and they will share the experience of how microservices enable Zalando’s engineers to move faster, build systems at scale, and keeping Zalando’s digital trade routes, as well as everybody on them, secure. They will show how microservices, in conjunction with a cloud infrastructure, support autonomous teams where security is of highest importance. Finally, they will draw upon their experiences to show how this all works in practice, and discuss what is necessary to really make identity matter for each and every Zalando customer, partner, service, and employee.

# Internet Security: Safeguarding Your Digital World
In the contemporary digital age, the internet is a cornerstone of our daily lives. It connects us to vast amounts of information, provides platforms for communication, enables commerce, and offers endless entertainment. However, with these conveniences come significant security challenges. Internet security is essential to protect our digital identities, sensitive data, and overall online experience. This comprehensive guide explores the multifaceted world of internet security, providing insights into its importance, common threats, and effective strategies to safeguard your digital world.
## Understanding Internet Security
Internet security encompasses the measures and protocols used to protect information, devices, and networks from unauthorized access, attacks, and damage. It involves a wide range of practices designed to safeguard data confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Effective internet security is crucial for individuals, businesses, and governments alike, as cyber threats continue to evolve in complexity and scale.
### Key Components of Internet Security
1. **Confidentiality**: Ensuring that information is accessible only to those authorized to access it.
2. **Integrity**: Protecting information from being altered or tampered with by unauthorized parties.
3. **Availability**: Ensuring that authorized users have reliable access to information and resources when needed.
## Common Internet Security Threats
Cyber threats are numerous and constantly evolving. Understanding these threats is the first step in protecting against them. Some of the most common internet security threats include:
### Malware
Malware, or malicious software, is designed to harm, exploit, or otherwise compromise a device, network, or service. Common types of malware include:
- **Viruses**: Programs that attach themselves to legitimate software and replicate, spreading to other programs and files.
- **Worms**: Standalone malware that replicates itself to spread to other computers.
- **Trojan Horses**: Malicious software disguised as legitimate software.
- **Ransomware**: Malware that encrypts a user's files and demands a ransom for the decryption key.
- **Spyware**: Software that secretly monitors and collects user information.
### Phishing
Phishing is a social engineering attack that aims to steal sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details. Attackers often masquerade as trusted entities in email or other communication channels, tricking victims into providing their information.
### Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) Attacks
MitM attacks occur when an attacker intercepts and potentially alters communication between two parties without their knowledge. This can lead to the unauthorized acquisition of sensitive information.
### Denial-of-Service (DoS) and Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) Attacks

LET’S TALK!
A wonderful morning everyone. [pause] I remember it as if it would be today [next] when my Grandfather
… when my Grandfather Hans let me drive his tractor the first time. I was 10 years old back then. My Grandfather owned a winery in region called “German Toscany” and I joined him every year to harvest the grapes. That’s more than 30 years ago and the internet was not a thing back then. My Grandfather first sold his wine locally only until he landed a game changing deal with a supermarket chain to distribute his wine. I always wondered what would he have done in todays times? Would he have tried to sell via Shopify? Amazon? Or building an own Online Store based on WooCommerce?
During my studies of Computer Science more than 2 decades ago I owned a web agency and created websites for local hotels, wineries, artists, insurance companies and others. Back then everything had to be done by pure coding. No plug & play. If a client needed a CRM or just a contact form, I developed one.
Fast forward to 2023 [next] into the presence.
…into the presence. What does the market offer to SMBs like my grandfather's winery today? Meanwhile we can assume that every business owner understood the need for having a professional digital presence. But do they know how? Do they have time to checkout the best CMS or Website Tool? At least for Winemakers I can certainly say “no” – even with big harvester machines, there won’t be a lot of time for building an appealing web presence unless you hire some expert to do so.
Based on our research, 60% of all professional websites are built by professional web agencies. And another 33% received help from students, friends or family. Now, what’s the preferred solution of web agencies?
This is an example of a solution based on WordPress from an agency targeting wineries. I’m pretty sure my Grandfather would sell his wine online today with such an online store. The agency utilizes WordPress as core platform to deliver robust yet scalable solutions like online stores on top.
Talking about WordPress, did you know that 1 out of 3 WordPress sites in the entire web is powered by WebPros control panels? There is another interesting fact:20% of WP sites powered by our WP Toolkit are an online store built with WooCommerce.
With that information, it's safe to say that WordPress [click] is a significant part of the WebPros ecosystem, and we love to design products for WordPress.
You've likely already heard about WP Toolkit, WP Squared and WP Guardian. If not, let me quickly present the most exciting new addition to the WebPros Ecosystem.
WP Squared is a one-stop WordPress management product with highest UX standards, leveraging the cPanel architecture as the base for a highly optimized backend.
Here you see WP2 in action. For instance, how to manage multiple sites with bulk management.
See valuable performance insights of a specific site seamlessly integrated.
And of course, best-in-class theme or plugin management with all security best practices in its back like you might already know it from WP Toolkit. [next] The big question …
The big question is, what role AI will play in our industry and if it is a threat to your brands at team.blue or an enabler for increased growth?
The impact of AI on the cloud and hosting market is immense. AI-driven solutions are paving the way for smarter resource allocation, predictive maintenance, and enhanced security protocols. With AI, we can identify patterns, detect anomalies, and optimize infrastructure performance like never before. It enables us to provide seamless experiences, reduce downtime, and deliver unparalleled service quality to our clients.
But as we stand here today, on the cusp of this AI revolution, we must not rest on our laurels. We must continue to push the boundaries of what is possible and strive for even greater innovation. Looking ahead, I see a future where AI will play an even more significant role in the cloud and hosting market.
Imagine a world where AI not only generates content but also provides real-time insights and recommendations on website performance, user behavior, and market trends. Imagine AI-powered security systems that proactively identify and neutralize threats, safeguarding our digital assets. The possibilities are endless, and WebPros is committed to being at the forefront of these advancements.
Automated Infrastructure Management: AI can optimize resource allocation based on data analytics on usage patterns, traffic spikes, and performance metrics. By leveraging AI algorithms, cloud and hosting providers can dynamically allocate resources, scale up or down as needed, and ensure optimal performance and cost-efficiency for their customers.
Predictive Maintenance: AI can play a crucial role in predicting and preventing system failures or downtime.
Security and Threat Detection: The cloud and hosting market face constant security challenges.
Intelligent Customer Support: AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants can significantly enhance customer support
Automated Content Generation: AI can revolutionize content generation for websites.
Let’s get back to my Grandfather. With WP being the most popular way for creating websites, do you believe he would be able to build a reasonable website with WordPress? Installing it, easy. And then he would be confronted with WP-Admin and struggle what to do next. How to add his contact form? Change the website menu? Crazy – for a first-time-user! There must be an easier solution for people that are not ready to study how to use WordPress. And there is! I’m thrilled to introduce you to [next] the next-gen
… the next-gen Website Builder!
Years after cPanel Site Publisher & Plesk Web Presence Builder, we are delivering a top modern, cutting edge and fully integrated Site Builder natively into cPanel & Plesk to allow you to offer a perfect & easy experience to your clients to create beautiful websites including

and full support for all devices
But the best is, Sitejet includes an AI Content Generator which helps users create the best suiting content in their preferred language. This is a game changer and allows users to create websites in minutes to hours, not days or weeks.
Sitejet will be deeply integrated and shipped with every cPanel and Plesk as part of your existing licenses, giving you the power to control whether you include Sitejet in your webhosting plans, offer it as add-on to increase your ARPU or selling it as own solution to compete against Wix & Squarespace.
If you want to see it in real-life or get early access, please let me know after my talk.
Awesome! Now let’s get some traffic!
Google says »Content is king« for a very good reason: helpful, approachable content means more visitors, means more sales.
If I would imagine my Grandparents sitting on a computer learning how to fix HTML issues, how to use header tags, how to place keywords and understand what their competitors are doing – wow, no way. But without this know-how and work, a website will not get the expected traffic. It‘s pretty much like running a marathon without having trained before. How many Marathon runners do we have in the audience?
SEO is critical for website success but requires the right solution.

“The WebPros Web Enablement Ecosystem supports you with all your Team.Blue brands growing your Business!” [pause] [pause]

AI is rapidly influencing our industry. F.i. by improving customer experiences.
Offer great solutions as value added services on top your hosting plans to increase your ARPU and support your clients based on their needs before they go elsewhere.
WebPros is here to help you. We are your trusted partner and we cover your back. Please approach my colleague Visar and myself and let‘s discuss what‘s the best way to support you.
And if you do everything right and add the best solutions into your portfolio, my 10-year-old son Luca could easily create a great looking professional digital presence for a winery today – just by using Sitejet offered by one of your brands on top of cPanel or Plesk. [pause] And with XOVI NOW, he would create weekly blog articles based on the AI Writer and reach the first place on Google. And who knows, maybe he would today sell wine from the “German Toscany” to customers in Asia or the US?
My name is Jan Loeffler, CTO at WebPros and this is my personal story. My passion is helping millions of customers getting their businesses online and successful through solutions built by WebPros and sold by you as our valued partner. And if you want to know more or you are interested in seeing a demo, my colleague Visar and I are happy to support you. [pause, next]
Today [pause] my Grandpa Hans might be one of your loyal customers who would have chosen you as his trusted Service Provider. You would take care of his Digital Presence and eCommerce while Hans [pause, next] would experiment with
Hans would experiment with producing the best tasting wine [slow down] coming from a small village called “Weisenheim am Berg” in a region called “German Toscany” in south Germany.
