3. The Indiana State Medical
Association's 2013 Convention
The Indiana State Medical Association (ISMA) will hold its
annual convention between September 20th and 22nd, at
Indianapolis’ JW Marriott Downtown. The roughly 200
delegates are physicians practicing primary care and
various specializations. The awards presentations, which
are a cornerstone of the convention, will honor doctors,
legislators, and other non-physicians who have made
significant strides on behalf of patients and communities.

4. The Indiana State Medical
Association’s 2013 Convention
This year, the 2013 ISMA Physician Community Service
Award will be given to a doctor in recognition of his or her
outstanding contributions to the community, whether social,
civic, cultural or economic. Physicians and other citizens
are encouraged to nominate individuals for this award. The
Patient Health Advocate Award will also be given, in order
to distinguish a non-physician for contributing greatly to
patients in the state of Indiana.
