Starting with 6 founding members, it has expanded over the decades and now works together on issues like trade, climate, education, and regional development to improve life for all Europeans. The workshop focused on providing a brief history of the European Union from World War II to today. Students watched presentations and videos, completed worksheets and crosswords to learn about the EU's development. They also engaged in an interesting debate about the future of the European Union and Greece's role within it. The workshop used various educational activities to teach students about the story and future of the European Union.

Students at the Evening High School of Aigaleo attended a two hour interactive course taught by their ICT teacher on how to use the popular online platform "SlideShare" to create and share presentations, documents, and other knowledge publicly or privately. The course explained best practices for compellingly uploading, sharing, and using SlideShare.

On January 27th, which is International Holocaust Remembrance Day designated by the UN, a workshop was held at the Evening High School of Aigaleo conducted by history teachers Mrs. Pefani Konstantina and Mrs. Boulbasakou Theodora. Students presented on the Holocaust, including photos and videos from their trip to concentration camps Auschwitz and Majdanek, to discuss the worst crime in human history and its consequences in Europe. The UN and its member states have held annual commemoration ceremonies since 2005 to mark the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau and honor the victims and survivors of the Holocaust.

A two hour course was conducted for students on creating word clouds using different online generators like Wordle, Wordmosaic, Tagxedo, and Tagul. The course taught students how to make their own word clouds and was led by the ICT teacher Mr. Harilaos Evangelou at the Evening High School of Aigaleo.

3. Η ίδια η Δυτική Ευρώπη, από την πλευρά της,
συνειδητοποιεί ότι πρέπει να πάρει το μέλλον στα

4. Έτσι γεννιέται η Ευρωπαϊκή Κοινότητα Άνθρακα και
Χάλυβα (ΕΚΑΧ), με τη «Συνθήκη των Παρισίων», στις 18
Απριλίου 1951 και πρώτο Πρόεδρο τον Ζαν Μονέ. Οι
δύο μεγάλοι αντίπαλοι, Γερμανία και Γαλλία,
βρίσκονται μετά από αιώνες στο ίδιο στρατόπεδο.

που παρουσιάστηκε από τον Γάλλο υπουργό

10. Με τη συνθήκη αυτή εγκαθιδρύονται δύο νέοι
θεσμοί:

ειρηνική χρήση της ατομικής ενέργειας
και
-η «Ευρωπαϊκή Οικονομική Κοινότητα – (ΕΟΚ)»,

μελλοντικό ενιαίο νόμισμα, την κοινή εξωτερική
πολιτική και την πολιτική ασφάλειας, καθώς και τη

Σύμφωνα με τη «Συνθήκη του Μάαστριχ», η
«Ευρωπαϊκή Κοινότητα»,
μετονομάζεται σε «Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση»

19. 1 Ιανουαρίου: Αυστρία, Φιλανδία και Σουηδία
εισέρχονται στην Ε.Ε, που αριθμεί 15 κράτη -
μέλη.
26 Μαρτίου: Τίθεται σε ισχύ η «Συμφωνία
του Σένγκεν».
Η συμφωνία θωρακίζει τα εξωτερικά σύνορα
της Ε.Ε. και επιτρέπει στους πολίτες όλων
των κρατών - μελών να ταξιδεύουν εντός
των εσωτερικών συνόρων της Ε.Ε. χωρίς
έλεγχο διαβατηρίων.
20. 1 Ιανουαρίου: 11 χώρες - μέλη (Αυστρία,
Βέλγιο, Φιλανδία, Γαλλία, Γερμανία,
Ιρλανδία, Λουξεμβούργο, Ολλανδία,
Πορτογαλία, Ιταλία και Ισπανία)
αποφασίζουν να αντικαταστήσουν τα
εθνικά τους νομίσματα με το ευρώ
(«Ευρωζώνη»)
Αρχίζει το τρίτο στάδιο της Οικονομικής
και Νομισματικής Ενοποίησης (ΟΝΕ)

22. 1 Μαΐου: 10 νέες χώρες εισέρχονται στην Ε.Ε.
(Κύπρος, Τσεχία, Εσθονία, Ουγγαρία, Λετονία, Λιθουανία,
Μάλτα, Πολωνία, Σλοβακία και Σλοβενία).
Η Ε.Ε. αριθμεί 25 κράτη - μέλη.
29 Οκτωβρίου: Τα 25 κράτη - μέλη υπογράφουν τη «Συνθήκη
για τη θέσπιση Συντάγματος της Ευρώπης».
Σκοπός της είναι η απλούστευση των διαδικασιών για τη
λήψη των αποφάσεων και τη διαχείριση της πολυμελούς
πλέον Ε.Ε, ενώ προβλέπει τη δημιουργία του αξιώματος του
ευρωπαίου υπουργού Εξωτερικών.
Για να τεθεί σε ισχύ το Ευρω σύνταγμα θα πρέπει να
κυρωθεί από το σύνολο των 25 κρατών - μελών.
