Pascal Olhats to Host “The Gray Event” for Save Elephant Foundation
Beloved Chef to Raise Funds for Asian Elephants
For Immediate Release (July 26, 2016)-- Having convinced Orange County of his unmatched capability with classic
French cuisine, Chef Pascal Olhats is sharing his skills and hosting a fundraising event to shine light on a little-known
issue near to his heart: preventing the abuse of Asian elephants.
Olhats was inspired to take action after enjoying an ecotourism vacation with his wife, Christine, at Save Elephant
Foundation’s Elephant Nature Park preserve in Chang Mai, Thailand. “We met elephants rescued from all over the
region,” said Olhats. “Some had scars from shackles, while others had been used for tourist entertainment, causing
major damage to their bodies. I was inspired by SEF’s founder Lek Chailert, and knew I wanted to take action once I
returned home.”
On Sunday, October 23, Olhats will welcome Chailert to the Sherman Library and Gardens in Corona del Mar,
California for an inspiring evening including cooking demonstrations by Olhats and Cathy Thomas, traditional Thai
music and dance, and a dinner featuring Chailert’s own recipes.
“Sherman Gardens is the perfect background for an event focused on such beautiful animals. I know our guests will
be inspired not only by the program we have planned, but the sheer beauty that will surround them throughout the
evening.”
Further details to be announced soon. Stay up to date on event developments by “liking” the Facebook Fan Page. To
