2. No struggle, no progress
No failure, no success
No pain, no gain
Life is full of ups/highs and downs/lows
Recession always follows a boom period
Life is worth living until it is not
10/28/2008 Laertis 2
3. We don’t understand the reason for the
paradoxes. It appears that everything in life is
a paradox
Is this the result of living in a dual world?
Maybe, but even this is contested because
duality may be imaginary. Like everything
else, it exists it doesn’t exist
The Grand Paradox is both the sum of all
paradoxes and the common theme of all
paradoxes, which leaves us to believe that we
cannot believe anything
10/28/2008 Laertis 3
4. All positions, all views, all philosophies and all
opinions are of equal value and defendable to a
certain degree. One can make a case for
anything and everything
Here is a simple test: Which one are you?
An Idealist or a Realist / Pragmatist?
10/28/2008 Laertis 4
5. IDEALIST REALIST
One people, one planet, Not in this lifetime, or
one dream several lifetimes
Peace on Earth It is not in people’s
nature to be happy and
peaceful forever
Abundance and wealth Our planet and its
for all people will always
suffer from scarcity of
resources
10/28/2008 Laertis 5
6. Well, they are both right and they are both
wrong. So, what are we supposed to do?
Have the dreamers and the visionaries “paint”
the picture of the future, but trust and leave the
day to day work and implementation to the
realists because they know how to get things
done. Yes, we need both and yet we need no
one as we seem to be moving ahead in an ad
hoc mode
10/28/2008 Laertis 6
7. It challenges everything that we know as being
“Truths”, Facts, Reality and even Integrity and
Authenticity
This does not mean that what we have established
as Truths need to be thrown out, but it means that
there are other Truths that need to be explored and
adopted. We are not anywhere near the ultimate
Truths and we may never find them. Finding
Truth is the same journey as Evolution, Progress,
and Perfection --- there is no end point. Truths
change with knowledge
10/28/2008 Laertis 7
8. What is the truth or who knows the real
definition of:
God No, the answers are not
Heaven found in any Holy Book.
Marriage Their answers are tainted
Afterlife and distorted based on
antiquated opinions,
Good
values and beliefs. They
Sin do not reflect today’s
Soul knowledge and mores
10/28/2008 Laertis 8
10. There are no everlasting truths. How could
there be since we don’t know so many things,
including Life, Metaphysical World, Universe,
and so on. Moreover, we are constantly
evolving. In a few million years from now, we
may not exist as a species or be transformed in
such a way that we don’t have any similarities
with today’s human species. All our views and
definitions about the world are ephemeral and
short-lived. Look how many views and
definitions changed just in the last 100 years
10/28/2008 Laertis 10
11. Organized Religions and Holy Books are the
Number One obstacle to reinventing our
world and creating a new foundation for the
future. Their foundation was great and served
humanity well for thousands of years, but now
humanity needs a new foundation and a new
framework for seeing and understanding the
world
10/28/2008 Laertis 11
15. Our brains evolve and will continue evolving. The
current mammalian brain puts all the emphasis on
love, caring and socializing. We don’t know
tomorrow’s brains what additional qualities they will
add to us and what their emphasis will be
Can a new brain be added on top of what we have
today? It happened before!
10/28/2008 Laertis 15
17. Got it Right: Finding the
truth is a long and
winding road and most
truths are found in one’s
heart
Got it Wrong: There is no
true “home”, no “Kansas”
and no universal truths
10/28/2008 Laertis 17
18. Dorothy found the truths
that fit her and her mental,
psychological and emotional
state at that given time.
Dorothy 40 years later had
different truths to fit her life
and her new friends.
Remember: Nothing remains static
10/28/2008 Laertis 18
19. • There is no Emerald City
• There is no end to the road
• There are infinite twists
and turns on the road
• There are more hazards on
the road than a couple of
witches and flying
monkeys
10/28/2008 Laertis 19
32. Our world and society is tired of:
Wars
Industrialization
Vicious Capitalism
Predatory Consumerism
Unethical Marketing & Advertising
Greedy Banks and Financial People
Fractious and Antagonistic Religions
Corrupt Political Parties and Systems
Unfair Justice System
10/28/2008 Laertis 32
33. Failure of Failure of
Big Government Systems such
Big Business and as Capitalism
Big Labor and
Monetarism
Dramatic Emergence of
Increase in New Systems
Cosmic and Models
Consciousness
10/28/2008 Laertis 33
34. It is on the rise. The
internet, the
communications
revolution, music, movies
and globalization thrusts
have aided people in
learning and reaching
higher levels of
awareness, knowledge
and even Enlightenment
10/28/2008 Laertis 34
35. The rise of Barack Obama to power is due
in part of the Perfect Storm. People are
craving for real change and new solutions.
People are fed up with the old ways of
doing business and politics
But, he may not be able to deliver what he promised
for a variety of reasons. But that is another story!
10/28/2008 Laertis 35
36. The more successful one becomes the more
traitors, sycophants, cowards and idiots will
try to undo her/him
10/28/2008 Laertis 36
37. The same is true with countries and empires. The
more successful they become the more other
countries and people become unhappy and
miserable. They feel as if they have to do
something to stop the success. It is more than just
pure jealousy. It is the seeds of self-destruction
taking off
Being unable to sustain success
is part of The Grand Paradox.
The reverse is true too
10/28/2008 Laertis 37
38. It was not the barbarians at
the gate that undid great
empires of yester years. It
was the traitors, sycophants,
cowards and idiots that hurt
the empires from within.
They weakened the empires’
willingness to fight, defend, America is facing
progress, change, adapt, the same problem
learn, and otherwise improve
themselves
10/28/2008 Laertis 38
39. Part of The Grand Paradox is that success is
always followed by failure, as if one cannot
stand success and prosperity forever. At
some point success becomes like a poison
that hurts the very entity that is enjoying
success
10/28/2008 Laertis 39
40. Part of The Grand Paradox is that one must
keep on growing in order to survive and
thrive, and yet there is a fine point where
bigness becomes a weakness and a sickness
10/28/2008 Laertis 40
41. We are the frog in
the bottom of the
well --- thinking
that the world is
small
10/28/2008 Laertis 41
42. Climbing out of the well (which represent
narrow thinking) starts with changing
one’s frame of mind. In order to change
one’s frame of mind one must know what
are the main influences and hidden
controlling or limiting factors.
The next slide mentions some
of them
10/28/2008 Laertis 42
43. 1. Human Race
2. Immediate Society, Country
3. Survival (collectively and
individually)
4. Earth
5. Personal Gods
6. Organized Religions
7. Governments
10/28/2008 Laertis 43
44. 1.Human Race 1.All Life (beyond Earth)
2.Immediate Society 2.Global Society
3.Survival 3.Joint Prosperity
4.Earth 4.Universe
5.Personal Gods 5.One God
6.Organized Religions 6.No Religions
7.Governments 7.No Governments
10/28/2008 Laertis 44
45. Because:
We are no longer important and we are no
longer the center of anything
We are shifting our attentions from survival to
shared prosperity and abundance
We don’t need to fight each other any more to
defend our Gods, Countries, and Governments
We are building a new global society with new
foundations and precepts
10/28/2008 Laertis 45
47. We are changing everything!!!
This implies one thing:
We are ready to reinvent our
world dramatically
10/28/2008 Laertis 47
48. We are at the cusp of the most
dramatic changes in history. We
have outgrown and have outlived all
the previous models of living and
existing. It’s time to take the game
now to a higher level. This is the
real significance 2012
