The document discusses how marketing and brands must change and adapt to the new digital consumer reality. It notes that traditional marketing approaches are outdated as consumers are now more informed and connected due to digital technologies. Brands must focus on innovation, experiences, and building emotional connections with consumers in order to succeed. The future of marketing and brands involves more collaboration and co-creation with consumers through digital channels and content.
The Deep Focus 2015 Marketing Outlook ReportDeep Focus
Deep Focus' third annual 2015 Marketing Outlook Report explores the nature of two critical elements: intricacies of social media becoming digital marketing and digital marketing becoming simply known as marketing. In the context of a seemingly never-ending deluge of marketing noise, we sift through the highlights and pitfalls of what's next and help guide you through the year and beyond.
Successful brands and retailers create engaging consumer experiences which result in long term relationships and an improved bottom line. This presentation offers tips on how to build enduring relationships at retail.
Our outlook for 2014 is optimistic. As marketers, it has never been a more exciting time. The following things to watch for range from very strategic to very tactical, but all are related in one big way. For marketers, none of them will matter, and none of them will work at all if not driven by a healthy, big idea.
How to make your customers fall in love with you.Liquid Agency
Success at retail is about creating great experiences. Just like dating.
Technology, mobility and access, among other things, have dramatically changed the retail landscape. The future of retail is bigger than flashy technology and the hyper-connected Internet of Things. In this new world, the consumer is in charge. Retailers and brands must build meaningful relationships if they want to see continued sales growth. And the way to do this is by getting to know your customers well, cater to their needs, create moments of delight, stay connected, be nice to their friends and invite them to share their thoughts and experiences. In other words, retail is a lot like dating.
The Brand in the Boardroom: Making the case for investment in brand by Joanna...Ogilvy
The Red Papers represent the marquee thought leadership from the Ogilvy & Mather network. Research into effectiveness shows that the more we tie individual marketing and advertising efforts to hard measures, the better that advertising performs. That is true on the much larger scale of the brand itself.
It has been challenging, however, to measure the real impact of a brand. Past brand assessments have been limited by an accounting bias and reflexive secrecy about methodology. There is a better way, described here, which has the potential to transform marketing.
The vision of Brand Valuation set forth in this paper can help us all make a better case for investment in brand even as it links our brand strategies to measurable financial outcomes—shareholder value included. That makes a powerful argument for introducing the brand into the boardroom conversation, where it can have a meaningful impact on the health of the whole enterprise.

Creating value with Content: the Future Of Marketing & Advertising, by Gerd L...Gerd Leonhard
These are the slides from my presentation in Sydney, August 18, see http://bit.ly/l6NZH
From the event description: "Futurist Gerd Leonhard will talk about the key trends and developments from around the globe, depict the most likely scenarios in the next 3-5 years, and describe opportunities that will arise from the global change to a networked and fully converged ecosystem of Content & Media, Marketing and Advertising"
Some high-lights:
* We are only beginning to understand the huge shift from disconnectePicture 20d to connected 'consumers'
* Connected people act / consume / behave / communicate VERY differently
* Mobile broadband-powered content sharing is going to reset the content industries
* The disruption has only just begun
* Captive consumers are rapidly vanishing
* Advertising and marketing as we knew it is no longer going to work
* Advertising IS CONTENT
http://www.b2bmarketinginsider.com/content-marketing/content-marketing-marketing-left
Stories have helped us connect with our fellow human beings since the dawn of time. But as we have evolved, each new communication platform creates opportunities and challenges, especially for brands.
Brands have learned that promoting themselves doesn't work. Ultimately it's the stories that allow brands to connect with their audience. The future of marketing is extreme customer-centricity.
Brands have to stop promoting themselves and create content that people actually want to consumer. The future of marketing will see more brands acting like publishers. This is more than a cliche. It means brands will start delivering content people want. And driving engagement and conversions.
As content consumers, we react more quickly and with deeper connection to headlines that engage us with curiosity and wit. The future of marketing uses the words we use when searching online and drives action with engaging headlines.
The world is overflowing with more information than any of us could ever dream of consuming. But "a picture is worth a thousand words." The future of marketing is more visual as brands follow traditional media publishers into visual content production. Brands will hire photographers, designers, reporters and videographers in addition to journalists.
The term "real-time marketing" is a myth. It is an over-simplification of the complexity of the modern world and how brands need to act in order to stay relevant. We are always-on and always-connected. The "campaign brain" no longer fits the world we live in. Campaigns that provide short-term bumps of engagement do not provide the return that marketing investment requires.
Brands cannot determine when and where lightning will strike. And so the future of marketing will see marketing leaders creating a culture of continuous always-on content production.
Social media is not a strategy. It is one of the channels we use to consume content and connect with people. It is the evolution of what started with the dawn of the internet and the move to digital, mobile and cloud-based systems of communications. These are just the pipes. Content is the fuel.
In order to be effective in the future, brands must create branded content hubs to attract their own audiences. The future of marketing is owned media and branded content hubs, driving social engagement that fuels paid distribution.

Why the Brand Idea Still Matters in the Age of Social Mediajcsmyers
A brand, wrote Stephen King in 1971, “has to be a coherent totality, not a lot of bits.” The founder of JWT’s planning department knew that brands are most effective when all their elements come together as a single unique personality. What would King make of today’s fragmented world of marketing where communication is delivered quite literally in bits: a Facebook comment, a 140-character Tweet, a Pinterest image.
The driver for this is, of course, social media. In every sector of society where individuals and organizations interact, social media has emerged as a disruptive force. While the benefits of social media to marketers are many – opening a two-way dialogue with consumers, influencing word-of-mouth, building rich stores of data – the challenges for brands can’t be ignored. In particular, brands must consider how to tell a coherent story across a growing array of platforms and amid a cacophony of consumer and competitor voices.
How can marketers take advantage of all that social media offers while protecting the integrity of the central brand idea? Is it even realistic that one idea can support conversations with millions of consumers across hundreds of platforms in multiple formats? The answer is an unequivocal yes. Given the demands of the today’s media landscape, it’s never been more important for all marketing efforts to be unified under a powerful brand idea.

The Creative Business Idea Book: Lessons Learned from Ten Years of Breakthrou...Havas
In 2000, as the advertising industry embarked on a new century of marketing communications, Havas Worldwide (then known as Euro RSCG Worldwide) made a promise to our clients: In every office around the world, in every discipline, we would maintain a single-minded focus on delivering breakthrough business ideas—ideas so powerful they have the capacity to transform businesses and revitalize brands, create entirely new categories, and alter consumer perceptions. We called this offering Creative Business Ideas® (CBIs), and CBIs have since become our mantra, our mission, and our mandate.
In the years since we established this new point of focus, Havas Worldwide has grown to be the largest agency in the world by number of global clients. We have been named Global Agency of the Year by Advertising Age and Agency Network of the Year by Campaign, and we have seen years in which we held more spots in The Gunn Report’s annual list of top 10 campaigns than any other agency, large or small.
In 2011, we marked our first decade of Creative Business Ideas with a gorgeous coffee-table book celebrating examples of the brilliant thinking the agency has produced for clients since 2000. Intended for creativity-focused people inside and outside our own industry, The Creative Business Idea Book: Ten Years of Breakthrough Thinking showcases more than two dozen campaigns created for clients around the globe and in industries ranging from finance to publishing, automobiles to FMCG. It includes fresh insights into the future of marketing communications and business in general, exploring, among other topics, the vital importance of the smart use of social media and the business benefits to be gained from driving social change.

There is no doubt that Spain's image in this Pandemic has been severely damaged; I do not want to describe it as a Spain Brand, simply because essential elements of a brand, such as Commitment or Responsibility, are not given. The origins of this situation of the image of our country are multiple, from a bad and in several cases contradictory management of communication abroad, the "lack" of defense of a key sector such as tourism, among others.
Country brand management is not advertising or communication campaigns, but a comprehensive and consistent brand strategy, just like any of the major Spanish brands, which behave in accordance with their brand vision, To put it another way, they "lead by example" in most of their actions, activities and corporate policies.
The advent of innovative channels and technologies have created a new breed of customers with a fresh set of expectations, causing the need for organizations to revamp and reasses their approaches toward customer management in order to keep up.
For the first time in the history of Interbrand’s Best Global Brands report, there is a new #1 brand: Apple. Interbrand, the world’s leading brand consultancy, publishes Best Global Brands on an annual basis, identifying and examining the top 100 most valuable global brands. With Apple claiming the top position this year, Google jumps to #2 and Coca-Cola, the brand that held the #1 position for 13 consecutive years, moves to #3. This year, the total value of all 100 Best Global Brands is USD $1.5 trillion -- an 8.4 percent record increase over the total value of the 100 Best Global Brands in 2012.
In addition to identifying the top 100 most valuable global brands, this year’s Best Global Brands report also examines the evolving role of leadership as it relates to brands. Interbrand contends that leadership must now be shared. CEOs, CMOs and consumers all have the power to drive the value of the brands they manage or admire.
89% of online businesses have not yet developed their brand for mobile devices. In an increasingly device-centric world, this is a crucial issue that needs to be addressed across every industry.
Brand Content: “It´s not about your brand, It´s about their brand”.Fernando Barrenechea

In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.
