  1. I sat in on a webinar last week that was supposed to be a tutorial on G+. The funny thing was the two people running the show couldn’t figure out how to use ‘sparks’ in the live demo! It’s kinda funny because anyone who has ever done a search on Google (and that’s pretty much everyone) can make a spark. Just put in your search terms into box and search. Then click on sparks and then ‘save search’ and its kept in the left margin in red…as a persistent search. It’s a subject specific news feed that draws on content within Google+ To be fair to the two presenters google just changed how to do this a week or two ago. ‘
  2. I want to reiterate that I’m no ‘social media guru’. I’m not even an expert. I’ve just have had the opporunity to spend a little more time on this stuff than many other people. Social media stuff changes so quickly it’s difficult to keep up. Google introduced 90 changes to Google+ in its first 90 days. So I can’t predict what’s going to happened tomorrow much less what’s the future for Google+. We’ve seen how Google has given up on stuff I the past. Buzz, Wave, Jaiku are all on the garbage heap and they were pretty good products. But I deffo get the feeling that + is here to stay. Because the community is behind it. People are using it and it’s grwoing daily. One fact is certain. Google runs search on the web. There are other engines, but Google is far and away the king of search. It’s really the only players. And Facebook and Twitter and Linkedin are NOT google. If you’re business depends on people finding you online it would be folly to not get into Google+ . Here’s why….
