This document proposes two technical solutions to optimize fertilizer practices on Irish farms. Solution 1 involves sensors that read soil properties, upload data via Wi-Fi to a PHP/MySQL database. Solution 2 uses Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled sensors to collect fertilization data and a dynamic web/mobile app to analyze the data and guide farming practices. Both aim to increase fertilization efficiency, lower costs for farmers, and reduce environmental damage by preventing over-fertilization. The proposals include requirements, cost analyses, and discussions of technologies like Arduino, AWS, and databases. The goal is to apply technology to support sustainable agricultural practices and benefit farms and the environment.
