Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

SAUDI ENTERTAINMENT REVOLUTION
THE GENERAL ENTERTAINMENT AUTHORITY
The reforms are part of the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness, Prince Mohammed bin Salman's
ambitious “Vision 2030” program, which seeks to diversify the Saudi economy as it reels
from a slump in energy prices, with the entertainment sector seen as a key potential
source of growth.
The General Entertainment Authority, which has grown rapidly since its creation in May 2016
managing more than 2,000 events involving 100,000 volunteers and 150 small and medium
businesses in 2017. Around 5,000 events are planned for the year of 2018.
According to the chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, more than 5,000 live shows,
festivals and concerts are planned in 56 cities nationwide this year. The Kingdom will invest 240
billion riyals ($64 billion) on entertainment infrastructure over the next decade to put itself on the
global tourism map.
In May 2016, a General Entertainment Authority was announced
by royal decree, into which over $2 billion have been invested.

WHY ENTERTAINMENT?
Developing a local entertainment industry that works on redirecting leisure spending by
Saudis because Saudis currently spend $22 billion a year on tourism and entertainment
— all of it outside the country.
In April 2017, the government announced a large sports, culture and
entertainment complex, of 334 square kilometers (33,400 ha) at Al-Qiddiya,
40 kilometers away from center of Riyadh City. The project will include
a Six Flags theme park, due to open in 2022.

4. ENTERTAINMENT ECONOMY OUTLOOK
Saudi Arabia has already pumped $64 billion into its nascent entertainment industry as part of
Vision 2030.
The entertainment sector needs US$ 71.2 billion of investment to build entertainment
infrastructure in all regions of the Kingdom, and investment in infrastructure between 2017
and 2030 is expected to contribute US$ 4.8 billion per year to Saudi Arabia's GDP, with
consumer spending estimated to reach US$ 9.6 billion by 2030.
Most of the 10 million tourists that come to the country each year are pilgrims visiting
Islam's holiest site in Mecca. Saudi Arabia wants to boost tourist numbers to 30 million
by 2030.
BRIGHT PROSPECTS FOR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
OF THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY
With the Kingdom’s entertainment industry still in the nascent stage the prospects for
suppliers of products and services is immense both relating to indoors and outdoors events.
For the Saudi entrepreneurs this industry will offer huge opportunities in establishing
businesses that supply the infrastructure, equipment and services for entertainment events that
are planned in the very near future.

CONTRIBUTING TO ECONOMIC GROWTH
SAUDI EXHIBITION & CONVENTION BUREAU
THE MAIN SUPPORTER OF THE EXHIBITION INDUSTRY
7 ENE 2018 8ENE 2018
The exhibitions and conferences industry plays an important role in the Kingdom’s
economy; having more than 20% of the total tourism revenues in KSA generated from
spendings in exhibitions. According to MAS (Tourism Info and Research), over 3.4
million visitors attended the exhibitions and conferences where they spent more than
9 billion Saudi riyals in 2012.
Despite being in a state of status quo worldwide, this sector has witnessed a remark-
able increasing growth in the GCC. Due to the importance of this sector in activating
the economy, the Saudi government has dedicated a special interest in it through the
Saudi Exhibition & Convention Bureau (SECB).
Saudi Exhibition & Convention Bureau (SECB) aims at developing and organizing the
meeting industry in the Kingdom, working towards its improvement and efficiency,
and drawing necessary plans to achieve its objectives, tasks, and needs. Moreover,
the SECB is also working on overcoming the obstacles facing the growth and devel-
opment of the meeting industry.
