โIndia Renewable Energy Sector Opportunity Analysisโ Report gives detailed overview on the following aspect related to renewable energy sector in India:
Significance of Renewable Energy for India
Renewable Energy Potential & Installed Capacity by Source
Government Support & Incentive Framework
Current Scenario of Decentralize/Off Grid Renewable Energy
Emerging Sources of Renewable Energy: Hydro, Geothermal & Tidal energy.

Future Outlook for Renewable Energy
Indiaโs dependence on coal for energy production is worrying. There is an urgent need to diversify energy sources; it could mean the difference between a robust economy and ones that struggles.
MSLGROUP in Indiaโs latest public affairs newsletter analyses the governmentโs efforts to establish a renewable energy paradigm.
With solar power prices falling, it is clearly the focus of the push. Wind is another priority area. Ambitious targets have been set but the plan has its flaws. Critics point out that innovative funding models are required, so are tax incentives.
โPublic Affairs Round-upโ also puts under the microscope two landmark legislations โ the controversial Land Acquisition Bill and the Insurance Bill. Both have been the subject of intense debate. While industry has lauded both of them, critics say the bills would have an adverse social and economic impact.
Similarly, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) finds itself at the centre of a political storm. A consensus among the states on it was elusive even as the government committed to implementing it next year.
What will they mean for India and will they help achieve the economic resurrection the country needs?

Foreign policy has topped the agenda of the Narendra Modi government in its first few months. Soon after taking charge, Prime Minister Modi completed a strategic engagement with the worldโs three largest economies โ Japan, China and the US โ which together account for approximately 40% of the global GDP. This was part of a larger international reach-out that included neighbouring countries.
The governmentโs foreign policy accentuates three elements: economic engagement, security cooperation and energy security. The latest edition of MSLGROUP in Indiaโs โPublic Affairs Round-upโ (PAR) newsletter analyses the significant progress of the policy.
A rejuvenation of the economy cannot be achieved without reforms that are in keeping with the business environment and needs. These include achieving a critical balance between ecological conservation and industrial expansion, as well as more efficient public sector governance. This edition of PAR includes an infographic on the key reforms required.
For all of the above, a digital ecosystem could prove to be the game-changer. India has flagged off the Rs 1,13,000 crore โe-Krantiโ, or โDigital Indiaโ, initiative โ the worldโs most ambitious broadband project. MSLGROUP in India puts the initiative under the microscope.

Each technological age has been marked by a shift in how the industrial platform enables companies to rethink their business processes and create wealth. In the talk I argue that we are limiting our view of what this next industrial/digital age can offer because of how we read, measure and through that perceive the world (how we cherry pick data). Companies are locked in metrics and quantitative measures, data that can fit into a spreadsheet. And by that they see the digital transformation merely as an efficiency tool to the fossil fuel age. ย
In February 2015, the Indian government announced its plans to almost quadruple its renewable power capacity to 175 GW by 2022 as part of the plan to supply electricity to every household in the country. This includes 60 GW from wind energy. Further, India made a commitment at COP21 to raise the share of non-fossil-fuel power capacity in the countryโs power mix to 40% by 2030.
Consequently, these plans and targets make the Indian market a unique fast moving and growing market where competitive companies can have great business opportunities. But, they also come with a complex and unstable legal framework where manufacturers find many obstacles on the way.
Indiaโ s energy consumption is set to grow by 4.2 per cent a year by 2035, faster than that of all major economies in the world .
However, Indiaโ s per capita consumption of electricity stood at 1075 kWh in 2015-16 , the lowest amongst the BRICS countries. India is last among the top 10 developing and developed nations on this front. The countryโ s per capita consumption is almost a third of what is required to grow in the
contemporary world and almost one twelfth of the nations like the USA, Canada and China. The figures suggest that India is going to need more power than it currently produces to upkeep its development, economy and the growth story intact. This is not going to be easy through its conventional energy sources. Now, with the increasing emphasis on clean power and rising concern of climate change, a lot of it must be powered by renewable energy.
India is endowed with 300 days of sunshine a year . While it has a huge landmass, the country is densely populated which leads to scarcity of large tract of unused land for solar parks. Little wonder then, RTS is going to be the key to Indiaโ s current power needs. With strong sunshine beating down on rooftops, the future of solar in India is bright indeed.
This report on โEnergy Efficiency in India: PAT Scheme - Success and Failuresโ, prepared by Tata Strategic Management Group, has a holistic view on the current state of energy efficiency and energy management in India. The focus of this report is on identifying key challenges faced by designated consumers in implementation of PAT Cycle I and how a collaborative effort in the right direction could ensure fast adoption of EE and robust energy management in India. It would gear India towards reducing energy intensity of the future growth, one of the prime objectives under NAPCC
Electricity is one of the most important drivers of socio-economic development, yet up to 250 million Indians are not connected to the national grid, and the majority of rural consumers have grossly unreliable power supply. More than solar lanterns and home systems that power a few lights and fans, among the most efficient ways to provide reliable electricity in remote areas is through local mini-grids. India has several run by energy service companies and usually funded by philanthropic capital.
Most of these enterprises have not been able to scale-up their impact meaningfully because the risk of the national grid entering their markets can render their mini-grid unviable. Rather than seeing โgrid versus mini-gridโ as a policy choice, Beyond Off-Grid: Integrating Mini-Grids with Indiaโs Evolving Electricity System explores ways we can encourage more of both: to have the grid operate in partnership with a network of distributed mini-grids to accelerate electrification.
What does the roadmap for this โinterconnectionโ of our energy system look like? How can we leverage both government and private investment? What are the different interconnection models and their commercial, technical and regulatory implications? Where do mini-grids go from here? This timely report โ commissioned by the Asha Impact Trust in collaboration with Shakti Foundation and Rockefeller Foundation โ provides a multi-layered perspective to address these questions based on extensive research, wide-ranging policymaker interactions, and our investment experience evaluating mini-grid operators.

More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

www.seribangash.com
A Memorandum of Association (MOA) is a legal document that outlines the fundamental principles and objectives upon which a company operates. It serves as the company's charter or constitution and defines the scope of its activities. Here's a detailed note on the MOA:
Contents of Memorandum of Association:
Name Clause: This clause states the name of the company, which should end with words like "Limited" or "Ltd." for a public limited company and "Private Limited" or "Pvt. Ltd." for a private limited company.
https://seribangash.com/article-of-association-is-legal-doc-of-company/
Registered Office Clause: It specifies the location where the company's registered office is situated. This office is where all official communications and notices are sent.
Objective Clause: This clause delineates the main objectives for which the company is formed. It's important to define these objectives clearly, as the company cannot undertake activities beyond those mentioned in this clause.
www.seribangash.com
Liability Clause: It outlines the extent of liability of the company's members. In the case of companies limited by shares, the liability of members is limited to the amount unpaid on their shares. For companies limited by guarantee, members' liability is limited to the amount they undertake to contribute if the company is wound up.
https://seribangash.com/promotors-is-person-conceived-formation-company/
Capital Clause: This clause specifies the authorized capital of the company, i.e., the maximum amount of share capital the company is authorized to issue. It also mentions the division of this capital into shares and their respective nominal value.
Association Clause: It simply states that the subscribers wish to form a company and agree to become members of it, in accordance with the terms of the MOA.
Importance of Memorandum of Association:
Legal Requirement: The MOA is a legal requirement for the formation of a company. It must be filed with the Registrar of Companies during the incorporation process.
Constitutional Document: It serves as the company's constitutional document, defining its scope, powers, and limitations.
Protection of Members: It protects the interests of the company's members by clearly defining the objectives and limiting their liability.
External Communication: It provides clarity to external parties, such as investors, creditors, and regulatory authorities, regarding the company's objectives and powers.
https://seribangash.com/difference-public-and-private-company-law/
Binding Authority: The company and its members are bound by the provisions of the MOA. Any action taken beyond its scope may be considered ultra vires (beyond the powers) of the company and therefore void.
Amendment of MOA:
While the MOA lays down the company's fundamental principles, it is not entirely immutable. It can be amended, but only under specific circumstances and in compliance with legal procedures. Amendments typically require shareholder

Our Mission

6. Dear Friends,
The energy scenario in 2012 was in many ways a watershed. Despite being
defined by marked demand and supply gaps and increasing coal imports,
2012 was actually a year when critical energy policies and programmes
rolled out.
The Perform Achieve and Trade (PAT) scheme for designated industries
and the Super Efficient Equipment Programme (SEEP) are cases in point.
PAT will save India about seven mtoe by 2015 while SEEP will help
manufacturers leapfrog appliances from current to super-efficient levels.
In 2012, the government also announced an INR 1900 billion debt
restructuring package for the struggling state power distribution
companies, started the process of reducing diesel price subsidies and
increased its 2020 renewable energy target from 6.4% to 15%. India's
current climate, economic and energy situation is making the case for
energy efficiency and renewable energy even stronger. This continues to be
an opportunity for an organisation like Shakti to help strengthen India's
energy security by enabling policies that support energy efficiency and
renewable energy.
At Shakti we are committed to ensuring that the country chooses the most
sustainable development plan. The subsequent pages outline what Shakti
has been able to facilitate in the three years of its existence.
These are small steps but important ones. I continue to be optimistic about
India making the right choices to address its energy needs and its energy

this area. Increasing oil and coal imports are placing great
strains on our balance of payments and, thereby, on
national security. With limited conventional resources and
growing energy needs, the country urgently needs to
transition to sustainable energy sources that will serve both
our inclusion and environmental ambitions. Disparate
energy initiatives cannot fill this pool. Only well informed
policies have the power to mandate action and lend scale. If
we desire positive change, we must invest in creating a
framework of smart energy policies.
What sort of energy policies do we need?
India needs to practice energy efficiency to meet its
immediate needs, and at the same time foster the
renewable energy market so that renewables can become a
mainstream option in the coming two decades. As coal and
What does aiding the design and implementation of a policy
entail?
If a policy is a product, we invest in a market strategy that
ensures a quality product and a robust market.
Fundamentally this means we invest in research and
analysis to inform a policy design and facilitate stakeholder
dialogues to keep the design process participative. We
invest in building policy evidence as also the capacity for
implementation. We orchestrate movement as per a well
thought out plan.
The pages ahead will give the reader a better sense of what
we do and what we have done.
We have just begun and these actions lay the foundation for

This announcement comes in the face of a rapidly
worsening power situation. India's historic challenge of
providing enough electricity to sustain the needs of its
economy and its population is becoming more and more
difficult thanks to depleting resources and climate change.
The fact that India is serious about mainstreaming
renewables is evident from the disparate but important
initiatives that are underway: the pursuit of 20,000 MW of

We are investing in bringing together diverse stakeholders
to advocate for a comprehensive national framework for RE.
The National Renewable Energy Platform, a multistakeholder advocacy forum that is technology, size and

growth in India over the past few years, could contribute
significantly to making the jump. We have been working to
assess the potential of wind in the country and finding
solutions to its variable nature. Research done by our
grantees show that actual potential could be more than ten
times the official estimates. We are working closely with the
government to bring about an official reassessment and
creating technical and commercial frameworks for
absorption of higher quantum of wind into grid.
Creating a stronger RE market:
We have facilitated the creation of a RE India portal to help
potential investors compare states and gauge market
viability. We have had Gujarat and Tamil Nadu mapped for
RE potential in order to build a more informed market
discussion in each of the two states. Since RE-based
electricity will need to flow freely through the grid to
compete with conventional power, we have also been
investing in market mechanisms to increase grid
absorption. We have been especially successful in pushing
the case of small, off-grid projects making them eligible for
Renewable Energy Certificates as well as getting them on
the priority lending list of private banks.

We need to curb energy intensity without curbing aspirations. India's Appliances

market pull for efficient appliances is created in parallel. Rising cost of electricity is
building the argument for such appliances. Consumers are becoming more receptive
to higher star ratings despite the price difference. Manufacturers are therefore now
displaying their own star labels more prominently and investing time and effort into
building efficiency into their selling proposition.
This is the right time to invest in strengthening the market for
energy efficient appliances in parallel to the national Appliances
