This morning I shared from Luke 24:36b-49 when we are in the 3rd Sunday of Easter. I focused on us paying attention when Jesus comes into our lives, encounters us, spends time (eats) with us, enlightens us then shows us how to exit our comfort zones to the people around us. Let us follow his process and share Him to the world around us.

2. We want to learn from Jesus…. But how do we know?

3. What happened just before this?

4. Today…
What does God’s Word have to say to us today?

5. 24:36b While they were talking about this, Jesus
himself stood among them and said to them,
"Peace be with you."
24:37 They were startled and terrified, and
thought that they were seeing a ghost.
24:38 He said to them, "Why are you frightened,
and why do doubts arise in your hearts?
24:39 Look at my hands and my feet; see that it
is I myself. Touch me and see; for a ghost does
not have flesh and bones as you see that I
have."
24:40 And when he had said this, he showed
them his hands and his feet.

6. What is the message for TODAY?
The disciples were scared, and lost
They met Him when He appeared to them
Today, Jesus has come, and ENCOUNTERS us through the
Holy Spirit … are we open to Him?
He assures them by showing Himself to them, are we ready to
meet Him today?

7. 24:41 While in their joy
they were disbelieving
and still wondering, he
said to them, "Have you
anything here to eat?"
24:42 They gave him a
piece of broiled fish,
24:43 and he took it and
ate in their presence.
24:44 Then he said to them, "These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with
you--that everything written about me in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms
must be fulfilled."

8. What is the message for TODAY?
His disciples doubted His reality
He ate in front of them
Do we question Jesus’ realness?
We need to EAT with Him (spend time)
They wondered about His purpose and power
He taught them about the fulfilment of Scripture
Do we question Jesus as well?
We need to hear, see and understand His EXPLANATION

9. 24:45 Then he opened their minds to
understand the scriptures,
24:46 and he said to them, "Thus it is
written, that the Messiah is to suffer
and to rise from the dead on the
third day,
24:47 and that repentance and
forgiveness of sins is to be
proclaimed in his name to all nations,
beginning from Jerusalem.
24:48 You are witnesses of these
things.
24:49 And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the
city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

10. What is the message for TODAY?
Jesus taught them
What happened next? They finally understood
We need to be ENLIGHTENED by HIM
They went into the world, witnessing for Him once He left to
heaven
We need to EXIT our comfort zones too…
