Today at BLC, was given the opportunity to share from John 1: 43-51. This was when Jesus called Philip, he followed. Then Philip called Nathaniel and persuaded him to Come and See Jesus. Nathaniel had doubts but was amazed when Jesus spoke to him. Jesus then promised him even more amazing things in life when following Jesus. Some thoughts to go home with include: 1. Did we had a direct encounter with Jesus like Philip? Or through someone like Nathaniel? Think back and recall our own experiences 2. Whichever it was, take the opportunity today to be like Philip and Nathaniel. Share our lives with others, and invite them to Come and See. 3. Can we do this consistently? Only by the grace of God.

What does God’s Word have to say to us today?
John 1: 43-51

4. 1:43 The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found
Philip and said to him, "Follow me."
1:44 Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew
and Peter.
1:45 Philip found Nathanael and said to him, "We have
found him about whom Moses in the law and also the
prophets wrote, Jesus son of Joseph from Nazareth."
1:46 Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out
of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see."
1:47 When Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him, he
said of him, "Here is truly an Israelite in whom there is no
deceit!"

5. What is the message for TODAY?
Jesus has called us. He is still calling us…
To share the call to others…
Some of us received the call directly.
Some of us are instruments of that call, to pass it on….

6. 1:48 Nathanael asked him,
"Where did you get to know me?"
Jesus answered, "I saw you under
the fig tree before Philip called
you."
1:49 Nathanael replied, "Rabbi,
you are the Son of God! You are
the King of Israel!"
1:50 Jesus answered, "Do you
believe because I told you that I
saw you under the fig tree? You
will see greater things than these."
1:51 And he said to him, "Very truly, I tell you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of
God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man."

7. What is the message for TODAY?
• Whatever we received from
Jesus, we can expect so
much more
• Are we like Philip?
• Let us invite people to
“Come and See!”
• Are we like Nathaniel?
• Allow Jesus to amaze
and change us
• Then invite people to
“Come and See!”
When we encounter Jesus,
we will be amazed
He changes our hearts, our
mindsets
This is when we allow Jesus
into our hearts that first time
But Jesus is not done with
us…

8. Only by grace can we enter
Only by grace can we stand
Not by our human endeavour
But by the blood of the Lamb
Only by Grace

You call us to come
Into Your presence You draw us
And now by Your grace we come
Now by Your grace we come

10. Lord if You mark our
transgressions
Who would stand?
Thanks to Your grace we are
cleansed
By the blood of the Lamb
